And yet it isn't only about arm strength and speed of the WR. Kupp led the league in 20+ yard plays and we all know his speed. It's about timing and being able to hit the WR in the best spot to make the bigger play and the offense design. Those stats I posted don't claim, at least I'm not because of them, that Tua has a bigger arm than Mahomes although Tua had few problems in college with big pass plays and yes I know full well the college game is different than the NFL. All these stats show is that his average depth of target for the time period chosen was deeper than Mahomes. He's capable of throwing the ball down field to WR's much more so than a lot of fans give him credit for. Will he repeat the feat this year? Not sure, nobody knows tbh in part because nobody knows the offense that their new coach will install. But he's got probably the fastest WR tandem in the league so it's hard to imagine the Dolphins won't take advantage of that speed in many ways if the coach is as smart as he's made out to be.

Again we can all see stats and take from them what we want to. I looked at them and thought that even though they had a bad OL and little in the way of weapons outside of Waddle Tua put up some impressive numbers in that category. Others thought they were fake or manipulated to make him look better.
You don’t need stats to see the difference in arm talent.

At this rate everyone is going to the AFC. It feels like almost all of the teams in that conference have legitimate playoff hopes. Some are going to be dissapointed. We will likely see some sellers at and leading up to the trade deadline, with AFC teams preferring to send players out to the NFC. It would not surprise me if the Rams pick up a player or two then.

I watched the Dolphins and just saw a very mediocre QB.
I don’t think that one, specific number means anything.
I also see the contract Bridgewater got and note that it’s not the type typically given when there is certainty at the QB position.

Af this point, I don't know if the Rams even want to spend another dollar

Where are all the vets that want to sign cheap with a chance to win!!?
Vets that have already won a Super Bowl must not be as concerned with it.

Maybe in that case the idea of winning it all with strangers is not as appealing. Also the idea of a player who is showing wear and tear or decline may not think it’s a priority to play 21-22 game season for cheap when it will make recovery or staying in shape that much tougher. Most of these veterans have not experienced the Rams training staff or the way McVay handles vets.

Just guessing.

We made a lot of moves after this point last year.

I don’t know how the Rams remain patient when you need to piece some things together, but possibilities always open up later.. Mikel, Miller, Beckham.

I’m beginning to think we MAY sign OBJ to some prove it deal, but that’s it as far as. Decent guys in FA. Probably get some no-names for camp, but this pining fo Gilmore and Wagner is probably useless. They don’t like having expensive ILBErs and Snead probably thinks he can draft a guy at CB that will work.

Might as well enjoy a 40 ozer and relax.

I guess it's cliche but we have to assume there is a plan on place with a surprise or two in between. I mean look at the Allen Robinson signing. Nobody saw that coming. So I'm impatient to buy need to keep the faith.

That's where I'm feeling. Kind of frustrating me and bumming me. But what do I know besides we've lost some defensive pieces and haven't added to it.

It seems like fantasy at this point. They don’t have much trade ammunition to land a really good edge. Maybe Wagner signs maybe not. I’d love to see a good edge and or vet corner. It’s hard to get overly excited about what’s left out there.

Otherwise they will likely do what all teams do and shore up any weaknesses before the draft with cheaper signings, then wait to see if anyone is cut loose this summer. They went into last season with a weakness at edge. Maybe they end up getting lucky drafting someone or make another October trade deadline move.

That is entirely your prerogative to see that. Doesn't mean he's not capable of completing passes further down the field than other QB's based on the offense and players around him. Which seems to be the point I've said multiple times that escapes you.

Clowney is still out there. You may not do better than that. He is good against the run he can play either or but if he place him hand on the dirt and Hollins olb that's a lot of rushing and still very effective against the run.

Then you won't have to trade picks or whomever.

FA phase 1 is coming to a close with a couple of decent sized contracts possibly still coming (e.g. Gilmore, Clowney, Wagner). Then the bargains begin. I just saw Kyzir White to Eagles for 1 year $5m. I could see the Rams waiting until after zFA period to sign anyone else to save comp picks.

They wait just about every year. This year was an rare occasion with the early signing of Robinson.

Twice now I've said it has nothing to do with arm strength and you still come back with that? Well played.
It certainly does have to do with that. Guys that have time to throw can throw further. They can set their feet and let it rip. A guy with a weak arm scrambling is much less likely to get in the best position to throw a long pass. A guy like Mahomes, or Stafford can throw deep and accurately on the run. A guy like Tua? Not so much.
