Maybe they priced themselves out of a trade."Does anyone want Jimmy? Anyone? Hello!"
~John Lynch
Yes I left that one out. He’s a free agent after next year. Maybe they are better off keeping him as insurance.Or maybe it's a combo.
Could be that SF isn't willing to let Jimmy G go for nothing in light of their tepid belief in Trey Lance... even if that only means he needs more time to be the guy they drafted.
Seems to be that they'll deal Jimmy and move on, but without value, they'll just hold on to him for another year and be better with him than without him.
I dunno. Honestly, I just want us to beat them twice and for them to miss the playoffs. Beyond that... idc
I think I heard the asking price for Jimmy GString was a 1st. That coupled with his salary, I can't see a team being that desperate. IMO they'd be DAMN lucky to get a 3rd back for him and I think they'd have to cover some of that salary to even get that.
Or hold onto him into camp because there are often a camp injury that makes an emergency QB a critical need for a contender.Or maybe it's a combo.

One radio host said it’s more realistic that the Niners settle for a 4thIf Matt Ryan only costs a 3rd round pick, how can Garopolo be worth a 1st rounder?? Insanity
The colts ate his 40 million dead $ from what I read. The largest hit in NFL history. Ouch!If Matt Ryan only costs a 3rd round pick, how can Garopolo be worth a 1st rounder?? Insanity
Where'd ya read that? It would make sense. Colts only gave up a thirdThe colts ate his 40 million dead $ from what I read. The largest hit in NFL history. Ouch!
No, the Falcons are eating that cap hit.The colts ate his 40 million dead $ from what I read. The largest hit in NFL history. Ouch!
I'm trying to understand how this makes sense. The falcons ate that 40 mil in exchange for 9 mil in cap relief this year? Clearly I had that backwards if the reporter has it correct. I just can't get my mind wrapped around that logic.
Falcons had to eat it. It was dead money if they traded or cut him. After the Deshaun Watson courting, it seems like they were between a rock and a hard place. Plus, a 3rd is better than nothing for a QB who seems close to retirement.I'm trying to understand how this makes sense. The falcons ate that 40 mil in exchange for 9 mil in cap relief this year? I could get where the donkeys ate 9 mil of Von's salary in exchange for a couple picks. But eating 40 mil in exchange for a 3rd? That sounds backasswards.
