There have been many occasions of that. Just recently they had her going on the Boom being a starter nonsense. They've duped her with the RB position more than once. She gets inside information from them and is very good at digging the information but she simply doesn't go back like most of us do here where it's easier to see where the Rams are full of shit.

But don't take this like I'm talking shit about her. I just talked her up. She is clearly our best beat writer.
I guess I'm confused about Boom. He was a starter.

Not sure what you're referring to about the RB sitch.

Well you and I disagreeing isn't a new thing. Again though I think she is excellent, I am simply not wired to believe anyone is infallible and there have been many times I have disagreed with her takes.

So let's leave it there.

Boom was a starter until he got hurt and lost his position to performance, both his while in and the guy who took his spot. Not sure what you mean about RB position though.

Jourdan has criticized the Oline building process for a few years now. She just tries not to be too harsh about it.

But when it comes to Joe, she has definitely called signing him a mistake. I don’t think she ever felt that Noteboom would be a good starter. But he was named as the starter.

I think there will always be a fine line between Jourdan expressing her opinion and not burning bridges. She definitely has a better grasp and clearer head than a lot of fans, on the big picture.

Agreed which is why I read her. There aren't many that I read nowadays. As an example I like to read King too, but in the same fashion there have been times I think he's running in directions teams feed him to go, or where I think he's missing on things, but overall the guy is quality and it's not worth taking the time to dig those things up.

The biggest problem I have with Sean is he's inflexible. His offense needs to evolve into more than simply 11 personnel. His lack of commitment to running the ball is mind blowing. His offense is predicated on the threat of the run to hold the LBs. But if you have not commitment to the run the defense will see it and simply not honor it. So they give up 5 or 6 yds on first down who cares. They just have to stop the two passes THEY KNOW ARE COMING to force the punt. You can tell his lack of commitment to the run by the type of RBs he drafts. Undersized "scat back" types. His offense needs bigger power RBs who can run inside. Trying to consistently run inside with power doesn't work with 5'9" RBs against 6'3" LBs.

He should be looking at RBs who are 5'11" about 220 lbs and run a 4.4. Guys who moved the pile in college type of RBs. Get a RB like that going then the play action will really work. Speaking of which his original offense was predicated upon play action to keep the LBs from immediately dropping into the middle zone. Sean kept his passing offense but dropped the play action part because he drafted a bunch of smurfs.

He ignored the contribution of Gurley, and Michel in getting them to their Super Bowls. So now he drafts Williams at 5'9" with 4.6 speed. Williams runs as well as he does simply because of his outstanding field vision. But at his size he can't take the pounding of a lead RB. The same with his other draft pick Darrell Henderson. Both of these guys are #2 RB rotational RBs. Neither one has breakaway speed. They are fine if all you are going to do is a perimeter run game. A bigger power RB with 4.4 speed gives you the advantages of both inside or perimeter run attacks. This is why the Rams struggle on inside runs when it's 3rd and short. Even now Sean was using his smurf when he had Freeman on the sideline. Go figure.

Freeman needs to be their lead RB coming out of the bye week. I hope Zach Evans is #2 RB. Both have the size speed and power to run inside or outside. If Sean would simply use his RBs they way he used the position with Gurley, it would change the offense. The Rams need the threat of the run to really open up the passing game. Sean seems to have forgotten his own offense.

Interestingly they will be playing Lake at SCB. He's got marginal speed for the position but he has decent agility. He should be fine up to the midrange zone after that he could get outrun by a fast Y receiver and will need a safety over the top.

Bottom line this will be an interesting second half. I hope Stafford's thumb holds out. But I do feel better with finally having a good QB2 which IMO might win them a game or two.

Jourdan has never seen a completely healthy Noteboom play. When healthy he is very good.

She absolutely has, during the Super Bowl year when he played for Whitworth a few games he was healthy.

I think, by dint, of your use of the word "infallible" you're implying that people on here think that. Again, I think that's an assumption you're making. I haven't read anything that's led me to believe that of any poster on here. I wonder if there are some people who just don't like what she's reporting so choose not to believe it. That's my assumption, btw.

I can tell you that I believe everything she shares due to her past levels of accuracy and accountability but welcome new information to verify or challenge her accuracy. Always.

Glad we can disagree and it not get crazy. As a wise poster on here suggested, could be pretty boring otherwise.

Higbee is injured. He can’t use one of his arms completely, which affects his blocking and catching. She thinks McVay does need to extend trust to other players. Because it’s hurting the offense.
Higbee is the 65th ranked Tight End on PFF so far this season.. Terrible resigning. Such a disappointment. When I see all these other teams actually have Tight End weapons it hurts. He’s a plodder with terrible hands.Everyone in the NFL plays injured some play well and some don’t. I don’t buy the injury excuse for his lack of performance. This is a top 3 need next season-a good Tight End weapon

Well I’ve heard it from her and from McVay also.

I think we are witnessing the long term effect of trading away so many high draft picks. Snead has not been able to draft an adequate replacement for Higbee. So, even if they feel that Allen will one day be very good, they didn’t want to risk relying on a raw rookie.

It’s similar to the Joe Noteboom signing. Pure desperation.

I wonder if they will try to sign one in free agency.

Yes this board would be incredible if we all wore Jourdan masks and agreed on everything. Man that would be fun.
Disagree, why not Lebron James masks? Jordan is overrated!

It would be incredible if @Loyal wore a Jourdan mask and a tutu to honor his favorite Rams WR of all time!

So the whole season is a big test period. She hinted that the NFL is not happy about the way the Rams are going about it all.

This is a strange comment (and full disclosure, haven't listened to the podcast yet). Does she mean the league office isn't happy about this? Why? And if they are and it's because we're not a marquee team right now, maybe they should tell their officiating crews to stop raw-dogging us in the ass damn near every game.

If it's other teams not happy, well fuck you, other teams. It's not like we're rolling over the rest of the league, but if McSnead is laying the groundwork for something good in the future, well, yeah, what the hell is wrong with that?

League FO or other teams ... fuck you guys. We had a good draft, we have a lot of young talent and we're going to figure out what they can do. So suck my balls, rest of NFL.

She didn't elaborate on it but I think the league office doesn't like the Rams stripping down the roster and openly rebuilding the team. Maybe its the openness with how they went about it. Maybe, they think it hurts the timeline tor rebuilding the LA fan base. I don't really know.
I agree though, screw them. I don't know of any rules stating that you can't strip down a good team and do a reset.

I do think Jourdan is doing a decent job riding the fence - not burning bridges yet asking some tough questions in a polite manner.

I almost wonder if she has some behind the scenes unwritten agreement with MCvay where she makes it clear that she really needs to ask the questions the fans want answers to and he makes it clear that it's OK to ask them as long as she's not a bitch about it.

She comes across as rather basic honestly, but does work hard to be the liaison between the fans and inner circle of Mcsnead and Co. So I appreciate that.

She doesn't often offer any strong personal opinions backed by her own observations or stats. So comes across as a bit amateur in her takes. It's like asking your daughter what kind of car she likes and she responds with what her mother told her, without critically analyzing the opinion or confirming why it's a good choice. Alot of her material is no shit sherlock stuff. But I am not going to kill the messenger for the 10-15 percent of insider stuff she drops at times.

She is not sure what the plan is with Witherspoon. They obviously like him but likely won’t go all in to sign him to a big deal if they have too much competition. They will settle for the comp pick.
If we are going all in on FA this year, then there is no way we will get a Comp pick for Witherspoon.

She does seem to have some insight into the thinking of the organization, so she’s doing something right.
