So far this year, we have only even attempted 8 WR running plays, for 59 total yards of offense. We are averaging 7.37 yards per carry, and for some reason we don't call those plays?
Xavier Smith has 30 of those yards on only two runs. I'm screaming at my TV every time we just keep running it up the middle for a one yard gain. This is one of the things people are complaining about when it comes to play calling, and for good reason. Gotta keep the defense off balance and guessing, yet we are so predictable. With Kupp and Nacua now both healthy and blocking on the outside, we could be even more successful on plays like this. Someone forward this post to McVay please, haha.

No coach is a genius when the OL sucks.

If you want to criticize McVay, the best criticism is the fact his OL has let him down over and over and fucking over. He sucks at OL just like he sucks at ST.

I have been wondering the same thing. Our WR end arounds was a staple of our offense in the SB year, including a HUGE 4th down end around with Kupp in the SB. I've even noticed the lack of screen plays recently. Would be nice to use either of these every once and a while to keep the D honest.

Oh yeah, and a deep shot to Tutu every so often wouldn't hurt.

I remember 2017, when Tavon Austin was still on the team, McVay kept using him for a FAKE jet sweep. Which I'm sure kept the defense guessing, but when he actually got the ball, he was averaging over 9 yards per rushing attempt. He just wasn't doing it very often.

I’m also done with the pistol formation. I feel like every time we run a play in pistol, it never works.

I’m really not getting the Tutu usage. He is truly limited on contested balls but he seems to find space across the middle. Seems like a perfect option when Nacua/Kupp are blanketed but Stafford seems to prefer to laser passes through mouse holes.
