So the Niners trade their 3rd-string-QB, and you think they are in trouble? All of a sudden the NFC WEST is wide open. Boys buckle up, we are in for a ride. Just got a weird feeling about this season. First two weeks will tell us a lot.
Got rid of his salary will use it for Bosa, but one can hope that Purdy limits them & Sam keeps throwing interceptions. So the Niners trade their 3rd-string-QB, and you think they are in trouble?
Let's just say I'm hoping. Hey I can dream right? Season hasn't started. So the Niners trade their 3rd-string-QB, and you think they are in trouble?
Turn that around. They're going with a guy who's played 7 NFL games (injured early in his 8th) being backed up by a guy in his 6th year, with his 3rd different team. Mr Irrelevant and Mr Irrelevant-he-was-drafted-#3. You think they're on easy street? So the Niners trade their 3rd-string-QB, and you think they are in trouble?
It is the very fact that they ARE trading their third string quarterback that shows they are in trouble. So the Niners trade their 3rd-string-QB, and you think they are in trouble?
I don't disagree at all with your above-take on the 49ers.Turn that around. They're going with a guy who's played 7 NFL games (injured early in his 8th) being backed up by a guy in his 6th year, with his 3rd different team. Mr Irrelevant and Mr Irrelevant-he-was-drafted-#3. They are F'd unless Brock becomes the next Kurt Warner.Turn that around. Again, as I just responded to PARAM, I agree with your above comment. It is the very fact that they ARE trading their third string quarterback that shows they are in trouble.
How many first round picks did they just screw themselves out of anyway?
It was always wide open. Whiners have a good roster and unproven shit at QB. Squawks have a good roster and recycled shit at QB. Arizona has a shit roster and shit at QB. And the Rams have a Super Bowl winning Coach QB and the GOAT on defense along with Kupp. People can write the Rams off all they want but they have just as good of a shot as anybody to win the NFCW.
If not for injury issues/history at every level of both sides of the ball I'd say it was better. I'm pretty sure every starter on offense has had injury issues some greater than others. And while they have a good front 7, if healthy which is a huge if, I don't like their secondary as much as most do.I hope I am over-rating the Niners' roster; and your evaluation is accurate because I think they are loaded.
As long as they lose in the NFCCG or the Super Bowl, we can wait for their window to close.Niners made the championship last year with Purdy as a rookie.
They have made Super Bowls and championships with G-string.
They don’t rely on top QB play to beat up on the NFC.
Agreed. As long as they lose in the NFCCG or the Super Bowl, we can wait for their window to close.
Totally loaded.I hope I am over-rating the Niners' roster; and your evaluation is accurate because I think they are loaded.
It is the very fact that they ARE trading their third string quarterback that shows they are in trouble.
How many first round picks did they just screw themselves out of anyway?
Exactly right. Who cares where you find you QB, as long as you FIND your QB.Obviously they whiffed on Lance but that trade hasn't hurt them. They made a trade for a high pick for a starter and picked a 7th round flyer for a back up QB. They now have a starting QB and a backup QB. The fact that their names are different doesn't mean the cost was different.
Their amazing find of Purdy in round 7 offsets their whiff on Lance.
So, this means that you believe that Purdy is worth three 1st rd picks and a 3rd.Obviously they whiffed on Lance but that trade hasn't hurt them. They made a trade for a high pick for a starter and picked a 7th round flyer for a back up QB. They now have a starting QB and a backup QB.
