I thought the contract was a bit high to begin with. They will move on but, keep his agent's number on speed dial. Sully gave the Rams what they needed to help kick start the new improved offensive line. Allen is my favorite to be the next OC.

Looks like Rams will be saving some money. 5+Million is too much for him.
I wonder if Rams will move on or sign him for something like 3M.

My guess is that they will move on. Either Blythe or Brian Allen will be starter.
If I knew the Rams were getting 2017 and early 2018 Sullivan I would gladly take him back. Sadly, I don’t think we can expect that for a full year. I think the Rams can improve at Center at a lesser cap hit.

Just a guess, but I think they are going to go with Blythe at Centre and play Noteboom at guard.

I think his days are pretty much done as an NFL player. He might end up on a team that has an injury or serve as a solid backup. He's definitely lost that step and it showed the last 6 games of the season. I don't know if Allen is the answer at C but I know Blythe can play there so I think we're in good shape moving forward. Cheers Sully!

Sullivan is a great leader but he was the weak link in the OL. An OL that looked below average at times towards the end of the season. I would also like to improve at RG since we may regress a bit at LG with a Saffold departure via FA.

If Saffold leaves, I see Blythe staying at RG, Noteboom at LG and Allen at C. Then 3 starters return to same position.

If Saffold stays, I see Blythe battling Noteboom for RG and Allen for C.

I could see him returning at the minimum as a backup.

As long as Allen works on his strength in the off-season. He was getting pushed around pretty good when he was in there this last season. Certainly seems like they are going with the young trio in middle of Noteboom, Allen, and Blythe. Unless an opportunity presents itself in free agency but don’t see them spending big money on oline with as much young talent they have sitting in the wings and other areas in desperate need of some money on defense.

Sully's time is done. We have some good young options, a scheme that favors mobile OL and thus a bit more youth, a top OL coach, and a draft that is loaded in interior OL from a depth perspective. No brainer to let Sully walk and best of luck to him.

Now if he wants to come back on the cheap that's great. But IMO it's time to move on. Maybe he'll want to be a coach who knows.

The Rams better be damn sure on Allen replacing Sullivan. Me I think this is the wrong move and I believe the Center is a very underrated position. Especially with a pocket passer. I think the Rams should not experiment and bite the bullet and go get Matt Paradis. He had 4 pressures all of last year and did not give up a sack he is a pkug and play player who is top 3 at his position. We go from the 31st best center to top 3. We must keep pocket clean I don't want to vet the farm on Allen he has very little experience and at Center we need a stop.

Kromer has seen these guys every day in practice from camp on. Allen was good enough along with Boom to cause the Rams to eradicate other depth options and roll with a very short depth chart on the OL last season. Allen also played some real snaps and played to expectations.

Sorry man but it's kind of funny to see a fan thinking it's the wrong move when there's been no indicator ON THE FIELD to make a reasonable decision otherwise. Allen's had a lot of folks doubting him from the day he was drafted on, but he's a stud and I'm confident the Rams made the right call here.

Problem right now is depth. And if that depth they bring in can offer competition even better.

I thought he held his own. He has a really big backside and legs. He still needs to keep getting stronger. Seems like self motivated hard worker. He should be ready to go.

A quote from Snead

"We draft them, develop them and then, when they’re ready and there’s an opening, go fill it,” Snead said. “And if you have to play them before that, make sure they’re ready to do that.”

Allen is up.

This is tough , he did not play well last year . BUT him and Jared are comfortable and seemed to work well together. I dont think drafting a rookie center and expecting him to start is not a good idea.

Physically, yes. His experience and intelligence won't make it easy to just plug n play with a stronger youngster.

The Rams got great production from Sully and he was key to the turnaround up front along with the big guy at LT.

We do have to turn the page there though. It's time.
