I'll go with Avila, Young and Tomlinson because the three greatest needs in my opinion were OL, Edge and CB; and those were the top-three players added at those three positions.

Most will say Bennett so I'll go with a few other answers in Allen Xavier Smith and the kicker battle. I know kickers aren't people but these two both look good and it's a pretty big role to fill.

Xavier Smith will be in a battle IMO for the last WR spot and the return man position. He's super quick and has limited return experience but I'm hoping we can keep our return game going after letting Powell walk.

Lastly Allen is is primed for the #2 TE role and potentially the #1 soon with Higs getting older and the contract winding down. McVay said throwing the ball to him is like throwing into a pillow the hands are so soft. We don't ask a ton of our TE's in the route tree but they have to be able to catch the ball when thrown to them, that's why Cooks and Everett didn't last long IMO. And most of all he's got to be able to block. It looks like he's willing to block just needs some technique.

Avila- could transform our OL
Nacua- I have the feeling he’s going to become a top player
Ethan Evans- punters are people, too

No way I can restrict this to just 2-3 players.

There’s at least 8-10 of them this year for me. Just an outstanding draft.

Hard to pick, so many of these guys are going to get real opportunities to battle for roster spots.

Avila, Bennett, Evans(RB)

Add Bruss since he is a huge piece of the puzzle too.

I think a lot of our other position groups are good or better off than these 3. I’m very curious to see how they fair and Shake out.

Hands down in no particular order.

Our new DE’s
Zach Evans within the RB room
Our Kicker battle

Avila and Hampton. I’m hoping both transform weaknesses from last year: OL stability and Edge pass rush.

100% Turner. Is he the PFF guy or the guy who was rated 150-200? Can he stand up to the size in the nfl along the DL? He’s a big determinant for what this draft ultimately is (when we look back). from my standpoint.

Then I’d say Young and Hampton- can they be big time pash rushes and guys who can stay in the field most of the time (run stop and passing downs).

I am very interested in some of the undrafted free agents, namely Braxton Burmeister, The Davises at corner (Timarcus and Tyon), Tiyon Evans at running back, and two of the inside linebackers (Kelechi Onyalebechi and DeAndre Square).

Onyalebechi was his conference’s defensive player of the year and the conference’s student-athlete of the year. Square was a fantastic ILB in 2021, but fell off a bit last year.

The Davises are interesting corners; Timarcus, in particular, had a bunch of solid special teams tackles in his highlight reel by him (to go along with good coverage skills). Tyon is a solid cover corner, long arms, big frame.

Tiyon Evans is a bowling ball at 5’9”, 225 lbs. Reminds me of C.J. Anderson.

As for Burmeister, he’s a former quarterback who moved to wide receiver. He’s blazing fast - ran over 22 mph on the GPS. For a reference, that’s faster than Gurley was.

Then there’s other undrafted wideouts competing: Sam James and Xavier Smith look like solid returners, while Tyler Hudson was Louisville’s number one receiver. Quindell Johnson will likely make the team, and Rashad Torrence II has a shot as well (and I wouldn’t sell Jason Taylor II short either; he was one of the best secondary players at Okie State - a school known for producing secondary talent).

Finally, the draft picks. I want to see how Kobie Turner, Byron Young, Nick Hampton, Desjuan Johnson, and Ochaun Mathis perform and compete against Daniel Hardy, Kier Thomas, Hoecht and the Browns. I want to see Davis Allen, Puka Nacua, and Zack Evans perform. I want to see Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson man the outside cornerback position opposite Cobie Durant and Robert Rochell I want to see Steve Avila, Warren McClendon, Mike McAllister, Sean Maginn, and Grant Miller perform against second years in Logan Bruss, Zachary Thomas, and A.J. Arcuri.

I want to see Ethan Evans, Tanner Brown, Christopher Dunn, and Alex Ward grow.

And I guess Stetson Bennett is an option.

From prior posts, I have gotten the impression that you are a creative person (a writer I believe).

That's Great because numbers may not be your strength ... The man asked for 2 or 3!!!! ;)

All of them, but if I'm limited to 2-3 players, I'll go with the first 3 draft selections.

What I'm really interested to see is if these guys along with the 2nd and 3rd year players on the team will actually get a legit shot to compete for a starting role. Contract and or draft position be damned.

Aaron Donald, Cooper Kupp, Rob Havenstein, and Matt Stafford should be the only players on the team not competing for a starting job.

If this is really a transition season, guys like Ernest Jones, Joe Noteboom, Van Jefferson, Brian Allen, Tyler Higbee, Cam Akers, Jordan Fuller really shouldn't be guaranteed starting spots, iMO.

Well, I did fail middle school geometry. Writing is a strength; numbers, not so much.

What no love for the STers?

I do have love for them. Ethan Evans looks like a fantastic punter and kickoff specialist. Alex Ward was the best longsnapper on the market. Dunn has the best season with a Groza win, but Brown has a slightly better career.
