VPN - Any Help?

I was thinking about getting a VPN for using a couple streaming services. The thing is that I have no idea which one is best, cheapest, easiest to use, or how to set it up. Any of you using one and have advice?

Also, A friend of mine told me about nobrainrtv. Any of you ever try it? I tried going to their site but they may have been taken down.

My Norton Suite came with a VPN included.
Outside of that, NordVPN is a good option.

I was thinking of using a VPN to stream NFL games from Europe, since Sunday Ticket takes a dim view of Americans doing this..... But wasn't impressed by Windscribe's VPN

I like ExpressVPN because with an LA server I can simply follow the Rams on normal network TV. If tech challenged get a pre loaded router and if no smart TV get a firestick to make your dumb TV intelligent. LOL You don't need a regular TV service because you can get more movies, etc off the internet on your TV.

Welp… When I wanted to do a search to see if there was already a thread on this, I had to google it to make sure what VPN stood for so I could enter it into the search, so....

I like ExpressVPN because with an LA server I can simply follow the Rams on normal network TV. The two I was mostly looking at were Nord and ExpressVPN. I have a Firestick and a couple Rokus. One of the Rokus has audio jacks because my main TV is a seriously dumb TV. It is a Samsung, has a great picture, but it is not only NOT smart - it doesn't even have audio out - SERIOUSLY - NO AUDIO OUT! If I can get the whole streaming thing figured out the way I want, then I will go ahead and get a Smart TV for my living room. I kept this TV because it really has a great picture and is 60". I got rid of four other TVs that were all smart TVs but had inferior picture quality. Of course they all had audio out so.... Maybe my TV isn't the only thing that isn't smart around here.

I was in Mexico for a little over 2 years. I had a DirectTV connection so I was able to get their feed from LA in Mexico for half of what I paid in San Diego. That said my neighbor had Express VPN to follow the Rams as well. More than once I was over there with other friends watching the games on his beautiful 60" VIZO. So I know that VPN works and works well. When I wanted to shop Walmart online all I could get was Walmart Mexico no matter what I did. So I would go over to his place and use his WiFi and could get all US websites.

VPN is the way to go IMO. It's safer and allows you to access places you might not get via your cable connection. People don't realize that carriers do not give you total access to the net. Like Google, they restrict for whatever reasons, what you can and cannot access. I also considered Nord because of good things I've heard. But the portability of Express suits my lifestyle and uses better. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Not all free VPN's allow you to pick your server. With me it's a matter of simply being able to get LA network stations without living in CA. This way I can follow the Rams and since my family mostly lives in LA or OC and my son in Oceanside it allows me to stay current out there. So it's not about being shady at all. With the VPN router I can then stream all the movies on my normal TV without paying for the cable's TV service. So there's more involved IMO and not necessarily shady.

Personally I don't think it's a good idea to use a free VPN.
Try a search for the top five VANs. Lots of great deals. CNET has a great source of information of these.
I use Surfshark, it was $56 for two years. Some will offer you a free week. Try it for a month to see if it will work for you.

Going to be honest with you @RamFan503, when it comes to VPN's, quality of security/encryption with any basic (or free) consumer VPN's it's really hard to beat what NordVPN has to offer. What they offer for the price is pretty damned good depending on exactly what your looking for.

So it really depends what you what your looking to accomplish with it? Pirate booteg shit? Stream tv/games? generally a basic cheaper VPN service will work. Something a little more advanced? NordVPN is perfect. You pay for what you get but Nord isn't that expensive considering top tier services.

It always depends how many connections you need? They offer six, most are 5 or less. VPN into TOR etc. (if you use that).

Yep, I don't want my blue state family and friends that I'm living in a red state. They thought I was totally nuts living in Mexico until my sister visited for a week. After that everyone understood.

Also, incase you didn't know the G in gmail stands for government not Google. Gmails startup was delayed for years so that the Feds could embed carnivore a spy program into the coding. So yeah if I was shady would I be using gmail where they can read everything I send and receive? LOL How do I know this? My sister worked on the project for years with Google. All coding had to be cleared through the feds first and it always came back altered. How do you think they catch these drug dealers and pedophiles.

I use vanishedvpn. It's about $70US a year but they have routers all over the world. It's a simple matter of picking what router you want based on what you want to watch. I've been using them for about 3 years now and have never had an issue.

NordVPN is my go to, got the three year plan as well. It's a little on the pricier side compared to other competitive brands but my internet connection doesn't drop significantly so I'd say it's well worth it imo.

Been able to stream through overseas servers for sports and Netflix well with them along with bypassing MLB TV's ridiculous blackout restrictions.
