The Patriots Kyle Van Noy says the rams didn’t run anything new in the SB. Not one wrinkle according to Van Noy, they had seen everything and weren’t surprised by anything the rams did.
I really wish the Pats would stop telling everyone how smart they are, it takes my hatred of them to a whole new level.

Literally how hard would it be for a team to intercept another teams play calls from the headset radio? It's literally just a radio frequency, and if someone knew the language the coach used, it wouldn't be hard to decipher the plays. I think Ernie Adams might be involved in things like that. Just thinking out loud here.

They're right, though. That's a problem many of us identified. McVay thought he could go strength for strength and beat Belichick. He learned a hard lesson about how wrong he was.

I think you have to bring a new playbook just for the Pats right now. I thought we had the horses to do something different with Everett and Higs against the LBs and Safeties. Painful lesson to learn, but I have faith in Sean that he will more than make up for it over the long haul.
Remember how the Wildcat exploited them initially? Gotta give them a fresh look to make them think. Then the athleticism advantage will take over.

Belichicks secret. Players with exceptional IQ’s. He will continue to draft based on how well athletes grasp his concepts...The physical portion is the start but if your like a Greg Robinson forget about it...

Yes, but doesn't that work both ways ?

I suppose the Pats defense has a right to gloat but it wont win them any new fans outside of NE. Also - it sweetens the pot when the Rams return the favor.

Pats don't need to win any new fans outside of NE, nor do I think they or their existing fans care. Even when they don't deserve it they still try to play the disrespected underdog card. I'm just done complaining about them. It's not going to take them out of the history books, and it's not going to erase the fact that we couldn't get the revenge that we waited almost two decades for — revenge that we rightfully deserved! Dammit! When's the next AAF game again?

From what I understand, each teams signals are encrypted. Otherwise someone with a signal sweep and strong enough antenna could sit in the parking lot and record everything both teams say.

Listen to what the opposing player is saying.

There’s no cryptic signals

No tells. No secrets. No surprises.

They are saying we brought them another game tape and they just went to work and played what we showed all year.

Brilliant concept. Who woulda thought you might need to sauce on it?

Only everyone, except our coach lol

They didn't stop us. We still had receivers open all over the field, we just couldn't/didn't get the ball to them. Plain and simple

That’s the thing about Belichick and the Patriots, there’s probably a bunch of teams that feel like if they played them again they would win. If the rams and Falcons had run the ball they would’ve won, if the o-line played like usual this year the Rams win, if the Hags run it one more time they win. I just hope somebody in the afc figures it out.

100%.

But if your qb is getting hit it doesn't matter who is open. There aren't many Kurt Warners in this world.

When the cheats played Kurt they knew hitting him wasn't gonna work. They had to stop all the receivers getting open. So they hung onto them for dear life. The refs let them.

With Goff the cheats knew if they hit him he wouldn't function anywhere near 100%. Their whole gameplan was getting to Goff and the oline couldn't stop them.

The Van Noy comments are painful because I’m afraid he’s right.

Still love McVay, and I think he will learn and adapt.

Next time the Rams get to the Super Bowl, I bet McVay will emulate Belichick and cook up some brand new shit just for that game.

Wade outcoached McDaniels, no doubt. But gotta admit Belicheat outcoached McVay in this one. Experience really is a huge factor, and McVay will learn and grow from this.

I think if we just figured out Brady we would of had a better game plan. Just planning to sack Brady is already a recipe for a loss. Need to learn his reads. Belichick is so good he plays this game like Moneyball. I bet that dude dissects everything possible on that playing field. Sorry to say but if he is that type of guy you can’t blame him for his extracurricular knowledge of everything that matters come gameday.

Mcvay clearly went with what worked for us all year and I don't fully blame him.

There is a risk with running a bunch of new plays, namely the execution might not be as crisp, which could result in a breakdown in blocking or running the right route. One play is often the difference in NFL games.

I really think there was some common sense in doing what your players have done all year that worked.

Problem is Belichick teams are excellent at knowing what you like to do and how to take it away.

On many of the play actions when Goff turned around to locate his target the Patriots had the play smothered. At other times they called the perfect two linebacker A Gap blitz and our Olineman could not block it up.

I wouldn't want any other Coach then Mcvay. He will adjust next time around and we will win some Super Bowls. We are the best young powerful Franchise in sports with Mcvay and Goff poised to have two decades worth of Super Bowl appearances.

I think McVay was going the old Lombardi approach. Back in the day everybody knew the Green Bay sweep was coming, but GB had the better players and they executed it so well, you just couldn’t stop it. There were games with Dickerson where everybody on the planet knew he was getting the ball, but he couldn’t be stopped.

I think McVay thought he had the better players, and if they executed well, they couldn’t be stopped.
