Rams Head Coach Jeff Fisher – Press Conference – September 17, 2012
(Opening statements)
“Start out with just injuries – the injury of the game – (T) Rodger Saffold. It’s not season-ending, but it’s significant and he’s going to miss a number of weeks. How many weeks, I can’t speculate now, but it’s going to be at least four weeks, maybe more. He’s got a third degree MCL sprain and some other stuff going on. But fortunately for him, it’s not season-ending and he’ll be back and he’s got a pretty good attitude about it. He’s happy with the news that we got as a result of the MRI.”
(On if T Wayne Hunter is alright)
“Yeah. We’ll have an injury report for you on Friday.”
(On if there was anything more to RB Steven Jackson being on the sideline yesterday)
“There’s nothing more to it. He spiked the ball because he thought he scored. In essence, he did. Just like I told you yesterday. Unfortunately, a couple set of circumstances there that were highly unusual, but there was nothing to it. His groin was tight, we didn’t want to risk further injury. He could have come back in the game. And he was OK with it. He understands. This is a long season. He is an experienced back, he knows his body. He’s not going to be 100% in this ball game, but could have come back and when you’re competing in a ball game like that, you just don’t want to set yourself back. He’s clearly not ruled out for this game. He goes back in that game at some point, he may have an issue.”
