I'm good with that.

Would also like to see them find a way to keep Saffold and after watching Blythe and Sully against the Bears and Patriots, I think the Rams need to shore up at least one of those two positions. Since I think Blythe still has upside, Sully becomes the odd man out....but then again, he brings a lot of knowledge to the table and that can't be overlooked. Super tough decision.

Sully really regressed this last season, so it’s time to move on. If Allen isn’t ready then put Blythe in at center and sign a new OG, because Blythe’s weaknesses at guard have been exposed, as he doesn’t move his feet quick enough.

Snead's Rams to Land very early?

Rams UFA's signed

MLB/ST's Bryce Hager
DE Ethan Westbrooks {Note:} Snead stands a very good the chance to loose four off his front five DL. (Starter DL Ndamukong Suh, starter ER Dante Fowler, former starter ER Matt Longace & starter Dom Easley in free Agency).

Rams RFA's & ERFA's signed
ER Garrett Sickels
WR Khadarel Hodge
DE Morgan Fox
CB Kevin Peterson
NK Dom Hatfield
FS/KR Blake Countess
PR/KR JoJo Natson

2nd round tender for RB Malcome Brown
2nd round tender for CB Troy Hill
2nd round tender for ILB Cory Littleton

Littleton's an interesting one. I think the safe move with him is to get him extended, and I think the Rams will at least attempt to do that. He's the guy whose play deserves a new contract, not Barron IMO.

Nice job @flv, we agree in most areas. Though on Ram’s home website Whitworth was already quoted as saying that he would give the Rams his decision before free agency starts.

Andrew Whitworth not retiring talks about cap saving extension

Mark Barron talks on going about lower salary no need to cut yet.

Lamarcus Joyner gone

Corey Littleton re-signed reasonable three to four year deal.

Dante Fowler talks on going with Fowler wanting to stay.

If you cut Mark Barron in March, you will leave 3.3 Mil in dead money and have 6.3 Mil in savings on the 2019 Cap
After June 1st, you would have only 1.6 Mil in dead money, and have 8-Mil in savings on the 2019 Cap
I prefer to wait until June

The only problem with that idea is that there won’t be any good free agents for the positions we need. It’s better to sign your free agents before the draft. There may end up being a good free agent or two after June 1st but you can’t count on it, making it wiser to have the money available sooner

Interesting. At least the Rams can sign free agents before the draft without cutting Barron. Depends on lots of things if they can wait till June 1 to release Barron. It's hard to tell but, they have a chance to wait. Heck, they may get him to sign a lower cost contract.

Releasing Mark Barron so late in the year appears to me to be on the little disrespectful side of things. I would not like it if it were me.

Would it not be much better for Mark Barron to be released when free agency begins on March 13th, so he can have the same chances & opportunities as the rest of the UFA's. MB has been an example model of true professionalism what we all want to see from our Ram players.

Rams had serious issues most of the year with run defense. We have all discussed on many threads where the problem mostly was.......our starting inside LB'ers. Cory & Mark both struggled. Improvement should be very high on the priority list. Cory played better than Mark we all saw it. Cory is our defensive captain & is better suited for the weakside ILB'er post. Cory's 2019 contract will have a cap cost of approx $3 million. Mark's is $10 million.

You sign & keep Cory & release Mark. Move Cory into the WS ILB'er starting post. Plan & prepare early to locate & find true 34 D MLB'ers who fit the Wade D. Either in Free Agency or the Draft. Why do we need to prolong this saga?
