Tons of yards, but only 11TD. Gotta hope he beats his pace for 22TD for the season. That would be a significant drop off from last 2 years. And 86.3 passer rating is subpar.

good news is he’s not turning ball over recently with better pass pro.

interesting to see Dalton on the list. He looked pretty good yesterday. Made accurate throws.

His line is subpar.

Let's put it this way:

No QB ever had a bad season while leading the league in passing.

the rams are 4th in scoring.

behind only the cheats, chiefs and packers.

Listen, I love me some Goff, but yds is only part of the picture. He was lucky to not have at least 3 ints yesterday. We all know the OL is a work in progress, but Goff needs to be better as well.

Every QB in the league benefits from those sort of drops and are "penalized" by good passes that bounce off a receiver's hands into the hands of a defender. Bottom line is, if they don't catch it it's not an INT. Footballs bounce in funny ways. Sometimes you're lucky, sometimes you're not.

Our QB still leads the league in passing yards.

agree. His pass pro was fine yesterday, there was no excuse for some of those bad throws. Lucky not to get picked multiple times.

he was ok yesterday, it was an uneven performance. Some terrific throws and some head scratchers.

I’m a huge Goff fan, he was my choice before he was drafted, but I’m not gonna sit here and rave about his yardage numbers when I don’t think he’s playing very well. Granted, he’s not getting much from his running game, not nearly what he got from Gurley last year, and his OL has been subpar, but he’s still leaving too many throws on the field.

This board is getting harder and harder to come to.

Goff is about average right now. We all know yards aren't the whole story, come on now. Yes, people are too negative about him at times - but people are too positive too. Two wrongs don't make a right.

The pass that bounced off of three Bengals was one of the worst throws I've seen any QB make all year. He had some yesterday that were some of the best throws too - that's Goff in a nutshell. Unfortunately, one of the worst traits an NFL QB can have is inconsistency - that's something Goff needs to overcome.

This is especially important as more defenses have mimicked the strategy of stopping the run to force an offensive line struggling from turnover to pass protect for a quarterback who struggles with pressure and an offensive coordinator who stubbornly refused to adjust from his strategy of stretching the field vertically.

People criticize Dalton, but he has also faced some pressure from one dimensional passing situations.

Goff is a fine young QB. He and the Ram's talented receiving corp should be able to keep us in any game.

The Ram rushing attack is another story.

Half way through the season and we find Gurley 26th among RB's.

More horsepower on the OL line seems like it needs to become a much higher priority with FA's and the draft.

Not about you but -

Nobody is saying he is killing it this year.
But we can't even have celebration threads without negativity, we get vent threads after wins...

We can't congratulate Goff leading the league in passing yards with a subpar O-line or being 4th in scoring because of constant downerism.

Two wrongs? What is wrong about being a happy Rams fan? What's wrong with giving credit where it is due?

Most of us have followed this team religiously for years and know the difference between a good Rams season and a bad one.
This ain't a bad one folks!

If the Rams have to be perfect and look like a SB team every fucking week or else ROD gets carpet bombed with negativity, bitching and "he isn't good enough" posts, then this isn't really a forum for Rams FANDOM so much as as it is an NFL yelp review.
Whatever bar some people want to set for the team before they can be supportive is fine for them but those are not forum standards - the narrative shouldn't get to be set by the most obnoxious and relentless about their opinions.

I’ve watched a few Bengals games. He went through stretches in games of looking very good and others where he looks totally lost.
Always being behind helped his passing yards as well.
Losing Ross and others has hurt his passing game for sure.

I saw two passes Brady made into coverage yesterday that were dropped pics.
Happens nearly every week.

Yeah I get ya... but the giff in this post seems like it was aimed at people who think Goff isn't playing well - which is going to just cause a bunch of back and forth.

And he's been unlucky on balls bouncing off hands that have him with 4 or 5 ints that he shouldn't have. It works both ways.

Good news is Edwards is definitely an upgrade in pass pro so hopefully Goff starts getting some confidence back in his line. Bad news is the oline is stil god awful in run blocking which is going to continue to put the pressure on Goff. But it’s good to see him at the top. I have this optimism that McVay has Gurley in half time until bye week and he will be unleashed for the last half of the season and things will look more like last year. I hope I’m rewarded for that optimism.

Young QB trying to overcome his team's inability to run the ball. And succeeding for the most part.

But even though he definitely needs to play better our chances to regain contender status aren't about him. They're about defense and the run game developing before it is too late.

Said this before and will again... This will go down as a huge growth season for Goff. And thus far in spite of no run game and a porous line he has led our offense to respectable scoring and yard totals.

Goff is literally the least of our probs. Some posters need to climb off his nuts.

yeah but, like man, goff has to be perfect man, otherwise he's not that good man, because he's not perfect man, ya know what i'm saying man. how can anyone say anything good about him if he's not perfect man? here at ramstalk, i mean rod, we demand perfection. otherwise don't compliment him in any way.
