OK, the Rams may not be looking at high priced immediate impact free agents to solve all our O-Line problems. The draft is also not likely to bring the Rams a potential 'franchise' type QB this next year. Our team is probably going to continue the slower, steadier attempt at building thru the draft, but due to CAP & big holes on the O-Line as well as our QB situation, finding stopgap veterans to start while rookies get up to speed may be the only plan we are left with. With all the talk of Blalock & Foles, i'm looking at how to build a small budget, albeit temporary, offense. If the Rams were to go with older, cheaper vets at LG, C & RT, not only is the CAP reduced, but the new rookies may have a year or so to learn the positions at an NFL level. Going this route may change how we draft quite significantly, no longer necessarily relying on instant success from multiple starting rookies at the top of the class. Further reducing the CAP, and saving the hunt for an immediate need at RT, imagine JLong on a reduced restructuring settlement, getting the OK from team doctors, and makes the transition to the other side. If the Rams are forced to cut Bradford, and Foles comes in to compete with Hill and another free agent QB, would this scenario for opening the 2015 season be suitable for you ?

QB - Foles, Daniel, Hill

LT - Robinson, Erving, Person
LG - Blalock, Erving, Person
C - de la Puente, Erving, Jones
RG - Saffold, Jones
RT - JLong, mid-round draft pick, Saffold

Instead of drafting a Scherff at # 10, maybe an accomplished swing player like Erving late in the 1'st. Add an additional OT/OG later in the draft.
An approach like this probably doesn't satisfy many, but the CAP savings is big and there are other positions which would now be in play for upgrade. It's not my first choice, but it is an alternative. jmo
