Let's get everyone's best guesses on who will be the Rams first pick, whether it be at 26 or after a trade up or trade down. So basically your best targets or fits that make sense.

Mine...as of now... Lol!!!

And I am leaning towards trade down, then stand pat at 26. I would be surprised by a trade up.

Emeka Egbuka
Trey Amos
Mason Taylor
Jaxon Dart
Josh Simmons

Best available:
J Simmons - OT
O Hampton -RB
N Emmanwori - SS/NB
K Grant - DT
E Egbuka - WR

Of these I prefer:
OHampton if they go offense.
N Emmanwori if they go defense.

Best guess at #26

Grey Zabel
Trey Amos
Jahdae Barron
Colston Loveland
Emeka Egbuka
This is a likely list for 26.

I’ll add Jihad Campbell and Jalon Walker. ( I’ve seen talk of Walker dropping due to his being a raw edge/offball tweener. )

I understand that this is not a part of the question but, later in the draft:

If the Rams have a shot at drafting Elic Ayomanor later, then I think he’s a WR the Rams would like. He’s got the most ‘Dawg’ in him of any receiver in the draft. He’s easily the best blocker. He’s tenacious. He’s got the perfect ‘Rams receiver’ measurables at 6’-2” 210 lb. He’s makes catches over the middle and deep. Plus he’s very intelligent.

He’s needs coaching up though. He played in a run oriented offense. But when I watch his highlights he reminds me a bit of Puka Nacua. He’s got the attitude the Rams love.

His biggest problem is he’s not a natural pass catcher, but maybe some of that can be coached. He had an insane one handed catch against Syracuse and he caught a pass off of Hunter’s helmet.

There is a chance he never pans out but with the state of the Rams roster, and the overall feel for this draft, I think a few developmental projects are to be expected.

Another guy I like later is edge Que Robinson he and Ayomanor could instantly be key special teams contributors.

As this is what you think will the Rams will do rather then what I'd do, whether by trade (up or down) or by falling to 26:
1. Loveland
2. Golden
3. J.Simmons
4. M.Taylor
5. Amos

Egbuka
Conerly

I stayed at 26 here, so hard to do this thinking of trading up or down.

Really hard to figure out if it was gonna be Golden or Egbuka here as one will push the other towards us and really unsure which goes first.

Don't think the QBs hit us but I suspect if Sander's is there, he could be the guy for us.

Other guys not on here like the TE's is not that I don't think we want them, just that they won't make it to us.

1. Mason Taylor, TE, LSU. I think this dude is a fit for a role McVay has struggled like hell to fill. Adding a TE of Taylor's quality behind Higbee would mean Higs plays the inline role and Taylor is used as primary slot threat and I would imagine we see a boost in 12 sets as a result. His draft spot value is probably early round 2, so this would be a reach but the Rams have been stoned two years in a row trying to move up for TE and now have lost Kupp who was effectively a receiving TE in this offense.

2. Terrance Ferguson, TE, Oregon. See above. Even bigger reach than Taylor would be, judging from most big boards out there, but again you get size and athleticism, hands and upside for a role that has eluded McVay for too long.

3. Malaki Starks, S, Georgia. Steps into the defense day one in our primary pairing and adds an ability to do a bit of everything. That flexibility I think will be valued by Shula. And I think it improves our back end significantly to have a safety with real skills in the pairing, as opposed to another box type who limits calls.

4. Jaxson Dart, QB, Ole Miss. Keep seeing Dart listed higher than makes sense for a guy who needs a redshirt. So he feels unlikely, however what the fuck do the mock creators really know. Really this could just as easily be any QB the Rams like sitting there at 26, as it is that range where you get the 5th year option on a QB project. But Dart is a guy I would go out of my way to pair with McVay. Nothing against the other options like Shough, Milroe, McCord, etc., but I would move up for Dart if he gets close.

5. Trey Amos, CB, Ole Miss. Look I would love to list Barron here but it is very hard to imagine him being on the board at this point. Corner is a massive need for the Rams. In Amos you get good size, sufficient athleticism, and the secondary feels a ton better right out the gate in this draft.

Ooooff, Ferguson at 26 would be a gut punch. That would be ahead of several TE's I like a lot more.

Again, the premise here is the Rams first pick, regardless where they end up picking. So it's really about your top 5 Rams targets/ best fits for the first pick. Realistic to their position where a trade down is very possible.

These are if we stay put at #26, in no particular order honestly, plus a bunch of folks like Barron, Starks, or Golden I think will be gone. Guessing if we trade back is hard because we don't know where to so I'm not even going to attempt to guess lol

Not necessarily what I want, but the picks I see happening (in no particular order)

This is barring a trade up or down:

1: Emeka Egbuka
2: Trey Amos
3: Jaxson Dart
4: Jihaad Campbell
5: Colston Loveland

But honestly, if someone like Golden, Warren or Barron fall, they run to the podium.

I don't always agree with big boards in the media.

Both Taylor and Ferguson are big weapons with hands that I think plug right in as slot weapons. Both would be reaches. But I don't think too much so, not per the tape I have seen.

I really like Fannin too. But he would be a bigger reach due to size vs athleticism and Senior Bowl week performance. I think he is a round 3 trade up target for us if we don't fill TE at the top.

In no order, my most likely guesses:

Starks - If he falls, impact DB, don't overthink it
Egbuka - Solid chance that he's there, safest projection of the WRs
Barron - Same as Starks, less likely to fall
Milroe - Swinging for the fences
Fannin - Preferably after a trade down

Guys that I see picking up steam but are really unlikely:

Emmanwori - Measurables guy, surprising lack of physicality
Taylor - Likely not an immediate or long term upgrade
Pearce - I could see a surprising pick at edge to build on strength but apparently terrible football character
Amos - Solid CB in man and zone but I don't see an impact player
Any RB - Some really good RBs in this class, don't see it happening that early
