So I guess we’re sticking with Blackburn as ST Coordinator?

I can be talked into the lack of depth/talent combined with inexperience being the drivers of the bad year.

I guess we’ll find out. Teams definitely cost us a couple games last year.

He basically said, "we need to give him better players but the coaching is fine". Quite a switch from some HC's who scapegoat assistants. (PssstSFPssstPhillyPssst)

Yeah McVay announced this a couple weeks ago I believe. Makes sense especially when you look at some of the players McSnead gave him to work with.

A return game doesn’t seem to interest McVay.
He seems content with the fair catch.
I’d like to see a dangerous return specialist back there, but I doubt it will be a priority.

Kicker, on the other hand, should be an absolute priority.
No big shocker.

Rams had sooooooo few injuries last year.. so we really avoided seeing just how thin the roster was. One reason to trade back for more picks.

Yeah, the guys we had back there didn’t instill much confidence. Every time the ball was in the air I was rooting for a fair catch. Would be nice to have a threat back there for a change.

I really believe that Snead needs to add some players that ARE productive Special Team players. Frequently these types can be found in the later rounds of the Draft and as UDFAs. All too often we as fans think that a guy who is a second team backup can fill in on STs while he waits to become a starter at his position.

The problem with this thinking is that frequently the backup player stinks at Teams and shows no propensity to add much to the unit.

Many of them were starters in college and never really spent much time on STs. This needs to change. We need to target guys who have shown that they LIKE playing STs and are good at it. And hopefully, they will continue to do so as LA Rams!!

We need a real return guy. Trammell isn't the guy.... Tutu isn't either

Fixing that needs to happen...

I don’t think for a second that I’m smarter than McVay but the ST’s conundrum over the last 3 years amazes me he doesn’t see it’s shit with his analytical eye. I mean even if that phase was 50% better in the league that would be huge. IDK.

Anytime you can get better you do.

Trammel earned the job & it’s his to lose.I don’t necessarily think he’s all that bad. At least Cooper Kupp wasn’t returning punts.

Chilli Davies should be an interesting Special teams coach.

Kickoff returns vs punt returns.

I could really give a crap about KO return stats. Miss leading, take the ball on the 25

I’m usually fast forwarding KO’s.

That stopping(not) the Giants punt returner almost cost The Rams there season.
We’ll see about FG kickers as well?
Glad we (Rams) didn’t sign that Giants kicker & that The Rams brought back Maher.

”CATCH THE BALL, CATCH THE BALL, CATCH THE BALL!!!……..HOLD ON TO THE BALL, HOLD ON TO THE BALL, HOLD ON TO THE BALL!!!”

Me every time Trammell is back there to field a punt…and then decides to return it.

The two ST coaches he's fired are probably better than Chase. I'm surprised he kept him around but this might have more to do with him realizing finally that the way he's been stacking the bottom of the chart is part of the problem. Part of his evolution as a HC I think. So we'll see whether Chase can give us good units next year. I'm quite skeptical on that.
