Fuck a vent thread. Our D played MUCH better than last week. Perkins didn't play as bad as I thought he would, although he made one questionable throw leading to an interception. Our oline also kept him alive.

That defense today though.... whoa.. other than the Kelce play was lights out... but ... allowed KC to chew clock. It's designed That way but PH will take what you give.

But much better defense.. lots of man.. I'm much happier with the play calling.. still too much off the LOS on 3rd down

Rapp needs to be put in a hybrid linebacker role, similar to what Williams had Mark Barron in when they were here. He is useless in space, but so much better near LOS.

In the last two games Mr. Tutu Atwell has been targeted 3 times. He has caught all three passes for 85 yards and 1 touchdown. Let us hope that McVay can scheme up some more targets as the young man has shown he is ready to assume his role as a viable member of the offense going forward.

Well first off the run game looks tons better. Akers & Williams make a decent duo. Between them were 19 carries, which is about as much as you can hope for with McVay. It's still not a good run game, but it was improved which is noteworthy when KC was run blitzing for many of the snaps. There is room between the two of them to get one guy hot in the game and ride him, though I am not sure the Rams are smart enough to do that and not sure they can do it since teams can focus that one ball carrier with success. OL needs to start eliminating the penetration but obviously it was far better than it has been.

Perkins all I can say is I like him. He's not a good passer but I like that he can move the chains with his legs. He is a very powerful and gifted runner. Perhaps we can start using him in the future as a backfield run option. He is a threat on the ground and can execute trick plays if you were to give him say 5-10 carries a game behind Stafford. Also you can run him up behind center from the RB position and take the handoff to get short yardage in those situations if he were in that role a limited number of times.

Play selection is not something I like to criticize. I try not to do that for the simple reason that if the players execute correctly any call will work in any situation. That said when KC is run blitzing early downs and biting hard on the run action you need to burn them with short to medium play action pass calls where the ILBs are vacating. This is 101. Perk can run this offense when play action is used heavily, or at the least when he's rolled into space. But when the other team is dropping you must run the ball. This is where we are and where we'll continue to be until the OL is fixed and Stafford is back at QB. There were many plays where we ran the ball on first down into 8 and 9 man fronts run blitzing because they knew it was coming.

I think we have better answers on the bench at some positions than who is being played. That's a positive. Well, potentially. Even if Yeast is shitty he's probably better than Rapp in coverage and might improve, whereas Rapp will not improve. Durant can play the ball unlike Long and should be outside the hash for us. Kendricks can do better in the slot than Ramsey and it insulates his lack of athleticism. I know they're trying to protect Ramsey but teams are going after him now so the answer is to keep him outside the hash on a favorable draw, as in he travels with a chosen matchup.

Arcuri is a good looking player. He looks like a huge athlete, with good weight distribution for a big guy. Moves pretty well too. He'll start struggling as teams focus him in their gameplans but he might be a keeper. So far so good at least.

Receivers were shitty overall but they fought hard and did some good things. Was nice to see Van get the TD. Also wish Perk had put that ball on McCutch when he was isolated on the DB on the sideline route.

We're gonna lose a lot more games, we know that. So let's get a real good look at depth among the weapons and secondary. Start flipping rocks to see what's under them.

Is it just me or is Cam Akers running faster and harder these last two games? Seems that he looks far more explosive than anytime since his Achilles injury.
Is anyone else noticing this about Mr. Akers?

I don't know if we win another game this year....Great high second rounder. Maybe find our next Rodger Saffold?

I have no idea if the silver linings today were real.

It's well known how I've stood up for the defense.. but, how mentally focused were the Chiefs for this game? I honestly don't know the answer to that.. but they came into the game with a 14.5 spread.. going against a 3rd string QB with no arm.

I *am* glad that Kyren got some play and looks like a guy who can contribute. Doesn't look explosive, but that's not a surprise. Looks competent, though.

Arcuri.. I don't know.. big guy.. looked lumbering to me? Am I missing something or being too harsh?
Glad to see Tutu on the field making catches.. maybe he's not a total waste.

I have no idea what to think when I see one of my faves.. Hoecht.. lined up at OLB. He's at least 285.. listed at 300. There was no pass rush of any real worth.. again.

I'm happy I saw Bobby Brown on the field for a few plays and it looked like he held the middle of the line in the "and goal" situation he was in for.

How fucking bad are Robert Rochell and Cobie Durant that they can't get on the field??? What the heck?

I guess the silver lining is that they played hard and played for each other.

By the way.. moving Ramsey to safety next year would be a very smart move, imo.

Seattle Defense is horrible...Jacobs rushed for 229 yards. Derek Carr threw for 295. :zany1:

Fear not, they'll win at least one more before it's over. Not that it matters a tinkers damn one way or the other.

That’s not going to stop him from losing his footing and missing tackles.

I don't like Arcuri's slide and his technique is poor. He also lacks the strength to counter a bullrush. IMO he's a work in progress and might never be more than an average backup-level player. In other words, I think he should have played better after a year and a half and two TCs.

I'd like to see if Thomas can play OT. I think he's really going to be an OG but he's originally an OT. If they are going to keep Arcuri at OT then I'd like to see Thomas at OG instead of Skura who totally sucks though Aboushi isn't much better.

Perkins is a better passer than everyone here credits him for being. McVay did Bryce no favors in his play design and play calling. Once again McVay refuses to structure the offense to fit his QB and it's the same thing we saw with Goff. Just like he drafts fast, smaller RBs who are slashers, not big fast power RBs. But he plays his smaller RBs as if they were power RBs which neither Akers nor Williams is. It will be interesting to see if McVay tailors the offense to fit Perkins and I'm not talking RPO. I'm talking about not waiting to pass until obvious passing situations and going exclusively run heavy on early downs. McVay was way to predictable the entire game and it hamstrung the offense.

WTF ?
Arcuri is a rookie just receiving his first ever NFL snaps.

Yeah he has a long way to go. But he could have been much worse given where we got him plus his experience level. I was expecting much worse in fact.

Arcuri didn't have his name called all night, so that's a promising sign.

Seemed like a decent start for our rookie 5th-string (!!) LT.

The defense played the same way that they have played the entire year.

They let Mahomes go up and down the field at will with the soft zone shit and then stiffened in the red zone.

I will say Morris red zone defense is one of the best but he has Ramsey Wagner and Donald in there.

His before the red zone defense just takes away the ability of those players.

If he played man press with Ramsey the majority of the game and inserted Rochelle instead of Kendrick Cobie instead of Long and Yeast/Lake instead of Rapp, we could play a tighter defense. I don't know why Morris keeps playing Rapp Long and Kendrick. Plus he needs to give up on Lewis and play Hoecht more.

I think I see a little more umph too. Is that a health, or effort thing?

Arcuri - Not a bad debut. Hats off to him.

Dixon - Solid game. Great fake. He followed that up with a good pin down punt inside the 5.

Defense - Good job holding KC in the Red Zone. I don’t think KC fans felt comfortable in this one until the 4th quarter. The defense kept us in the game.

Kyren Williams looks like a 3rd down back. He is a little small out there, however.

Tutu - There is something there to work with. He has a good chance to make the most of his playing time down the stretch.
