They both say the Lions are going to win, but neither of them says we have no chance.

Besides, plenty of previews online have got the Rams winning.

I don't think Wilbon's an idiot at all.
Like @Londoner said, they did not dismiss the Rams, and actually, Detroit should be favored by more imo.
Rams WILL win however

Home field advantage, that’s it? Even when we play at home we only get that advantage 50% of the time. You think that’s going to affect this team?

These clowns don’t even watch the Rams.
Get ahead of the Lions and watch them falter. IMO they are a young team that thrives on momentum.

To me the game is a 50/50 tossup. Both teams have good quarterbacks. They have weapons for the quarterbacks. They can move the ball and put up points. And they both have questionable defenses. I'm guessing the people who are predicting the Rams winning is because of Stafford. All things being equal I'd trust him more in crunch time than Goff. Which is why McVay wanted to make that trade.

One thing no one talks about is Detroit's schedule it was way weaker than the Rams. They were blown out by the Ravens we took them to OT.

We are the hottest team in the NFL going into the playoffs. Prognosticators get lost in records win losses isnt as important as the overall true analysis of strength of schedule.

Exactly why the Rams are built for a wildcard slot. I just don’t think home field means that much to them. They really are used to playing like they are always on the road. You can throw that 3 pts advantage out the window. The Rams don’t care!

Show respect for the Rams,
a warranted gesture,

I think so too. I don't bet but this seems like a classic 'road dog' scenario. Take the visiting team plus the points.

If Rams play their "A" game they could win this even if Lions are on their A-game---

If Stafford no picks, Williams no fumbles, some edge pressure ... Rams will be a tough out.

Ok...let's keep it real folks. These are two explosive offenses with shaky defensive secondary play.

If any of us don't believe Detroit can win this, you have blinders on.

I have the Rams winning...but as I just recently posted in another thread, I fear this game more than going against the 9ers!!!

The thing that makes me more confident in the Rams is they have Stafford...who handles the blitz better than Goff.

The only concern that I have is the crowd noise. I hope they practice the shyt outof the silent count this week. It is going to be a wild atmospher! Hopefully we score early and often to shut the crowd up and so we hear “Who’s House?”

But really, we are playing with house money as the saying goes. The pressure is on Detroit and Jared Goff, mentally. He will also feel the inside pressure with AD, Kobie Turner.

I like Wilbon but he can be an idiot at times. Like in that piece he said the Lions had back to back 10 win seasons. No they didn't.

They are both right though....not about the Lions winning but about IF they lose, losing to the guy you traded away, in your first home playoff game in 30 some years, is gonna hurt.

But they are Lions fans and with that comes pain. Like Jets fans. And Browns fans. And Buffalo fans. And Viking fans. There are certain things in the NFL that are incontrovertable truths and those are 5 of them.. .

Well...let's not act like Detroit can pressure Stafford...they can. The key here is Stafford is probably the best in the NFL at handling blitz pressure and we can thank Detroit for that for all the years they had Stafford behind bad OLines.

Yeah that stadium is going to be causing minor earthquakes in the Detroit area Sunday night. The fans are rabid, loyal, and ready for this. Hopefully the Rams keep them quiet after the beginning of the game. One thing Rams need to not do is keep giving away chances to put a nail in the coffin. Their propensity for letting teams back into games will keep that stadium shaking.
