Jadeveon Clowney to NFL? 'Yes, sir'
http://espn.go.com/nfl/draft2014/st...-gamecocks-skip-senior-season-enter-nfl-draft
It didn't take long for Jadeveon Clowney to make a decision regarding his future as the South Carolina Gamecocks defensive end said Wednesday that he would skip his senior season and enter the NFL draft.
Within minutes of the Gamecocks' 34-24 victory over the Wisconsin Badgers in the Capital One Bowl, Clowney was asked if this was his last season.
His response: "Yes, sir."
Clowney is the top-ranked prospect by ESPN Scouts Inc. and No. 1 on ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper's Big Board.
The 6-foot-6, 274-pound Clowney recorded a team-record 13.5 sacks and 23.5 tackles for loss as a sophomore, earned unanimous All-America honors and finished sixth in the Heisman Trophy voting.
After deciding to return for his junior season, Clowney suited up for South Carolina and, despite some speed bumps and facing numerous double-teams, still earned first-team All-SEC honors with three sacks and 36 tackles heading into Wednesday's bowl game.
He finishes his college career with 24 sacks and 127 tackles.
