Kyler has shown he breaks under pressure. IMO Tua is a better QB. Kyler may have a better arm but Tua is showing progress in his development. Kyler, not so much. Now that Tua has the weapons he's going to have a breakout season. Kyler is coming off a melt-down season. Once again, his play declines late in the season, and is prone to childish pouting when things don't go his way. Kyler is a kid and IMO is probably the most childish starting QB in the NFL.
I'm loving this. At an average of $46M/yr guaranteed he will hamstring the Cards for the next 5 years. What are they going to do if Trey Lance has a breakout year? Kyler is all he's ever going to be. Lance has upsides greater than Kyler, and his game makes more sense. IMO next year Lance will be more dangerous than Kyler. I have a feeling that this big money will go to Kyler's head and since it's fully guaranteed there are no boundaries. He's obviously satisfied with himself as is right now and that is the biggest red flag there is. The Cards aren't much different than the Browns.
Every one of the Card fans I know here in Tucson is asking what are the Cards going to do if Kyler does a repeat of his late-season fade once he has nothing left to prove? He's getting paid no matter how he plays.
If a contract is going to be guaranteed it must come with performance-based conditions. Only fools write checks with no guarantees that the player will continue to improve. Kyler has shown he's not that kind of guy. These contracts should be written so that only part is unconditionally guaranteed with the rest based upon performance. Now Kyler can stay the spoiled little rich kid with no repercussions.
Bidwell and company are total fools.
Yeah with Kyler and Kliff, the Rams can continue their dominance over the Cards for years to come. Kyler is the poster boy of a system QB and the Rams know exactly how to beat that system.
