New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan created bad blood with the St. Louis Rams this past offseason by the way he left the team.
The Rams may not have been happy, but Ryan was reportedly able to go to McDonald's immediately after he left the team, according to NFL.com's Kevin Patra.
Ryan was let go by the Dallas Cowboys after last season, and he caught on with the St. Louis Rams in January. He wasn't there for very long, though. He took over as the New Orleans Saints' defensive coordinator in February.
The way he left St. Louis is humorous, according to the NFL Network's Michael Silver, via Patra:
According to Silver's account, Ryan entered Fisher's office at 7:30 a.m. last January, dropped his keys on the desk and told the coach he wanted out. Meanwhile, Fisher's other assistants were in a staff meeting with a window that looked out on the parking lot.
Rams coaches watched Ryan leave the building and head across the street to a McDonald's. Ryan "goes to get a Big Mac and never comes back," Silver said.
There's a right way to leave a team, and there's a wrong way. I'm not sure if this fits into either category because it is so bizarre.
Ryan has helped turn the Saints defense around this season, so it looks like he made a good choice to join Asshole Face's staff in New Orleans.
The Rams are hosting the Saints this weekend.
