Mastodon's former lead guitarist died in a motorcycle accident where an SUV failed to yield at a turn and hit him dead on.

This hits me fucking hard. Mastodon is a band I grew up with for years and years, ever since my teenaged years. I haven't been a fan as long as other fans of the band; Crack the Skye is where I got my start, but I quickly grew to love them, and I have more of their songs on my iPhone than any other band not named BackStreet Boys (don't laugh; they're my childhood). I listened to his vocals for years. This just...this just hits hard.

Rest in peace and paradise, Brett. I know your brother is there with you.

Absolutely fine. I'd rather have the post edited and have the news be correct, especially with something as touchy as death.
