Is it true that the Cowboys haven't been in a Super Bowl in almost 30 years?

Asking for a friend who is a Cowboys fan.

What I Saw at Rams-Cowboys Joint Practice

The Los Angeles Rams and Dallas Cowboys had a physical joint practice on Tuesday

Brock Vierra | 3 Hours Ago

OXNARD, Ca. The Los Angeles Rams and the Dallas Cowboys participated in a joint practice from the home of the Cowboys' training camp in Oxnard before the two sides meet again on Saturday at SoFi Stadium.
Up Next - Are Los Angeles Rams WRs Adams and Nacua Already a Top Duo

First off, those concerns about Tutu Atwell and his usage...not worried about that anymore. I will gladly walk my concerns back because Atwell looked like he was worth all $10 million the Rams are paying him this season. The Rams got the ball to him early, he ran routes that utilized his low center of gravity and he showed off the hands. Atwell even took the top off the defense for a score. A big day for Atwell.

Jordan Whittington made some big time blocks in the run game, as well as displaying the hands. While he wasn't targeted often, he created separation and on a run play, he took a Cowboys defender and drove him into the dirt.
Konata Mumpfield had another strong day, using his frame to box out players, making repeated catch after catch.
Xavier Smith showed off the promise he displayed last season, evolving in his role as a wide receiver. It's safe to say the WR3 role is wide open.
Talking about roles, it was Warren McClendon who got an extended run with the ones on offense while D.J. Humphries worked with the twos. McClendon, playing left tackle, helped the offensive line keep both Jimmy Garoppolo and Stetson Bennett clean. The line was excellent.

Garoppolo put in his best performance yet and while he was dotting up the Cowboys, especially with Davante Adams rerouting every Cowboys defensive back into oblivion. It was the red zone where he impressed. He was quick, decisive, accurate, and looked in control. He looked like the Rams QB1 but not to worry, Sean McVay made it clear Stafford is still on track to start week one. Bennett was solid as well.
Kyren Williams may have got paid, but the only thing on his mind was making the Cowboys pay. He had a solid day, nothing crazy but as a pass blocker, he was wacking Cowboys defenders left and right, picking up a blitz so effortlessly, he took the defender to he ground while Garoppolo hit a wide open Puka Nacua for a touchdown.

Jaylen McCollough has been looking more and more like a linebacker with each passing day. An interesting insert, especially when the Rams defense has an opposing offense that wants to go to the air often.
CeeDee Lamb did create problems for the Rams so the secondary has to tighten up but Darious Williams read Dak Prescott on one play, jumping the pass for what would have been an easy pick-six...except he dropped the ball.
Shaun Dolac was strong against the run but to be honest, the Rams dominated the line of scrmmage on both sides of the ball.
Jared Verse was once again a force of nature, forcing backs to cut inside where Poona Ford would put his paws on them. Verse was involved in two quick dust-ups, but they were resolved as fast as they started.

Overall it was a strong day for the Rams. There are some things to tighten up but if the Cowboys and Rams took each other on in an actual game, even with Garoppolo at the helm, Sean McVay would be 1-0 right now.

6 takeaways from Rams' joint practice with Cowboys: LA wins the day

Tuesday was a big day for the Los Angeles Rams. Not only did they get Kyren Williams under contract for three more years with a $33 million extension, but they put together a solid practice against the Dallas Cowboys in Oxnard.
Sean McVay said it himself after practice: "Today was a good day for the Rams."
Based on reports from Oxnard, the Rams won this practice with their NFC foes. The defense shut down Dallas' ground game, while the passing attack seemed to excel against Dallas' secondary. Jimmy Garoppolo continues to have a great summer and Williams put all of his talents on display just hours after signing the biggest contract of his life.
Here are six key takeaways from the Rams' practice with the Cowboys.

Kyren Williams shows why the Rams extended him

Earlier in the day, Williams and the Rams agreed to a three-year, $33 million extension. Hours later, Williams showed exactly why he was worth the money. He broke off a long touchdown run up the middle, displaying good speed through the hole – something that was lacking at times last season.

He also put linebacker Damone Clark on his back while blocking for Jimmy Garoppolo, putting in the effort as a blocker.

Williams is the heart and soul of the offense, and that was evident during Tuesday's practice.

Davante Adams can’t be covered

Adams was open. A lot.
His route running has always been top-notch, but the Cowboys had no answer for him on Tuesday. This touchdown was a perfect throw and catch by Jimmy Garoppolo and Adams after the receiver slipped through the defense uncovered for six points.

He scored another touchdown where he broke open on an in-breaking route and Garoppolo didn't miss him in the back of the end zone.

Jared Verse wreaked havoc up front

Verse has a year of NFL experience under his belt and it's becoming evident he's going to be incredibly difficult to block this season. He was a menace on the edge, according to reports, regularly getting into the backfield to disrupt Dallas' offense.
On this play, he blew up a running play and made a tackle for a loss, showing just how good he is against the run, too.

Rams’ run defense shut Dallas down

The Cowboys don't exactly have a prolific ground game, but the Rams gave them no room to run. Reporters in attendance repeatedly mentioned the Rams' run defense during Tuesday's practice, shutting down the Cowboys' rushing attack.
Plays like this show how good Los Angeles' front seven can be when healthy.

Kamren Kinchens and Quentin Lake stood out

Kinchens and Lake made two of the best plays of the day. Kinchens' highlight-reel play was a big hit on Jalen Tolbert after the receiver caught a bubble screen, laying out the Cowboys wideout in the flat.

Lake's play might've been even better. He saw George Pickens going to the back of the end zone and turned to run with him, perfectly timing his leap to rip the ball away from the Cowboys receiver.
It sure wasn't a touchdown and while it's hard to see if Lake got his feet down, it was a stellar play from the defensive back.

Jimmy Garoppolo was sharp

It seemed like Garoppolo had a really good day based on reports and highlights from practice, which is encouraging with Matthew Stafford out. This throw to Tutu Atwell was outstanding, hitting the receiver in stride deep down the left sideline.

Atwell hasn't had the best camp thus far but plays like this one show exactly how dangerous he can be. He went in motion and caught the defense napping, getting behind the secondary for a big play.
It was a perfect ball from Garoppolo, and it's not as if it was an easy throw, either.
He caught the eye of Rams writer Stu Jackson during practice for the way he spun it Tuesday.

Sorry the coverage is from Cowboy reporters.

The First 5 Minutes— 4:1/2

Puna Ford was the player that would’ve had the Sack #95

Nick Hampton - was #6 late coming across. He had a INT thrown right at him. Can’t wait for him to be gone.

The player rolling around on the Lamb catch was Cobie Durant. He was ok,but his height really shows at times.

I’ll continue more, but there was a play right in the being there & Jared Verse made the play & looked at the crowd(Cowboys fans).
Had to give him props - (Let’s go Verse. In the photo my 2 FAVORITE PLAYERS (2 of) was #51 who came to play & #4 who let a play go because he can’t hit. Then made a play in the Endzone & almost tripped on the field(weird),he didn’t go back out after that.

From 5 minutes to 10 minutes.

Kendrick needs to go & Wallace #30 isn’t going to make it either.
Both players are going to get CUT!!

You can see it in all those plays. The 2 players hitting(LOL) the dawg was #51 Troy REEDER!! The other guy on 2 plays hitting hard was little Kam Kitchens#26.

The player who didn’t hit was #37 Q. Lake. On that section—

I wasn’t able to see much on the offensive side. Mcvay was asked about Adams & said what did you think to the reporter. He said he looked good & Mcvay said yeah I agree.

That was an out at the end of the video. D. Adams had a couple TD’s as well.

Dallas secondary is a mash unit. But nice to see the Rams dominate them like they should. Also a good sign for LT.

One thing I am real excited about is the run defense. This defense will be rough on opponents if they put them in a lot of third and longs.

Good report- I could add to it,but he had a better view on The Rams side.

Kyren had a long TD ,SO I’ll disagree that that was Crazy!
He also had a 5 run burst & ate it on the Dirtiest part of any of the fields.Looked like old Anaheim stadiums infield.

Saw Konta miss a pass, but then made an outstanding catch. His routes weren’t very good from what I saw. He looks like he’ll be an excellent Special Teams Players.
(VERY INTERESTING SPECIAL TEAMS squads) !

Saw Atwell & Whittington run nice patterns in the 2 minute. The Rams are SO much better coached.

YEAH - every time I looked Warren was in at LT!! He was looking solid.

That big tower blocked the 35 to 35 basically. Then across the field & plays going on right in front which was added distraction to concentrate & see both.

couple things I noticed after watching videos o of todays scrimmage.

McClenden starting at LT with 1st team. Limmer at center with 2nd team.

Reader wearing green dot at ILB. Didn't see Landman at all.

Landman was out- Troy Reeder took control of the defense. The HATERS can say it,but Speights didn’t show up like Reeder. He makes plays more plays

In the 2 minute defense Troy Reeder was in total control. After Day 1 Jared Verse said how good Speights was with the Green Dot.
-Today Kendrick got a weak sack & Verse chest bumped him.I’m like he’s get cut & got lucky on the play call(overrated)

First play(2nd play) of scrimmage.Troy Reeder made a play(5 yard loss) & didn’t lay the RB out like he would have.

He was making plays all over the field.DAK got caught on Reeder closing (read)on the play.DAK ate it (threw it away).close to a fumble or grounding.

He moved Puna over & then made a play.

#91 Turner didn’t play ?
Alaric Jackson
Ferguson

Ty Hamilton got playing time with starters early. MURCH came to play. He blew up a few runs.

The guy I haven’t heard much about & that Vegas(SI) reporter talks about McCoullogh was QUENTIN LAKE. He was all over the field & almost like a LB. He got burned 1(2) times by Lamb.

There was a play the REF signaled a TD,but the ball was bobbling.Q. Lake came down with it.It was funny. The other Ref was talking to him. I joked replay.Lake went back & asked. The 1 Ref made the touchback sign. lol- no body (cowboy fans) really noticed it.

D. Williams made a lot of plays as well compared to Colbie Durant.

The Kyren TD - (crazy)

Adams- he had a couple.

The Puka catch ? He had like 5 TD catches

The Verse play - he looked at us in the stands.

Lake - he had that hit as a LBer Then that INT in the End Zone

Ahkello- that play they stood still because if they make a play(Kinchens) it gets to physical IMO.

-The Atwell TD was pretty sweet. He’s smooth, but I didn’t see that play.Nice video

Very encouraging reports.
It is the Cowboys but I’ll take it!
The Cowboys are HORRIBLE RUN.

Sean Mcvay has The Rams SO organized comparingly.

After the first series The Rams were the return team looking straight into the sun. Xavier had trouble (1 pr) .then #10 & then #6 Stoopes.

While that was going on Cowboys standing around.

The RAMS starting lineup huddled on opposite field. They talked about things for a minute. Then they started running 3 snaps with motion.

Point is The Rams are very efficient

TuTu was a beast creating 10 more yards separation on some of his catch's.
Man he absolutely flying, Geez!!!

My favorite play was from Kyren. Though he ran like monster all day.
It's his pass pro that made the "play of the scrimmage" IMHO

It was the blitz pick on Cowboy number 18. Kyren hit him with
great leverage Literally DE-cleated him and raised up in into
the air. #18's back hit the ground first, and then his feet.

damn you guys...

the last time i went to training camp was the time the cowboys and rams got into a big fight...

these reports are so awsome...

thank you all...

i will be returning to rams camp as soon as it becomes not so exclusive, as in a lot more availability for the occasional fan that has to travel...

Still scares the shit outta me

couple things I noticed after watching videos o of todays scrimmage.

McClenden starting at LT with 1st team. Limmer at center with 2nd team.

Reader wearing green dot at ILB. Didn't see Landman at all.

Didn’t notice #41 Stewart today.
&
#25 Emanuel Forbes

Both these players should be specialty types.

Brennen Jackson had a couple nice plays. Was happy he stepped up a little. He & Stewart need to get those Hoecht Snaps.

Nick Hampton had an INT & another nice play, but to me he is such a let down.Have NEVER been impressed by him from Day 1
To think he was drafted before Puka.

Kendrick- lost a lot of respect for him today.Lazy Showboat who will get CUT again & knows it.

Josh Wallace got exposed. He isn’t quick at all.He has quicksand in the feet & no closing speed. He does well inside with contact & short zone.A good tackler if he gets his hands on you.Would have to think a POOR SPECIAL TEAMS guy ?

Those are my 3 early CUTS

Desjuan Johnson(Mr. Irrelevant.)’s time has come as well.Maybe & probably a Practice Squad guy. He’s tough in the trenches, but what FREAKING Depth across the D”Line.
