Going to Start with RAM-Ping UP!
The Youth & Energy.

Jalen Ramsey & Nick Scott are GONE!! Meaning The Rookies get to stay into Games more & really don’t have to Over Thinks Things on Special Teams.

The Main thing on special teams
will be The Kicking Game.

Les Snead over The Years has been GREAT at finding Kickers & Punters. Long Snappers as well.

IMO - Les Snead will do it again.
The Number 1 thing he F’””’s Up on is Drafting Players he has connections (realationships) to.
Such as schools Robinson Auburn,Salem The Kicker from an old HS.

Matt Gay was a GREAT find!! Just signed one of the biggest EVER contracts for a Kicker.

New ST coach, new PK, new P, new long snapper, potentially new returner… otherwise it’s pretty much the same unit.

Blackburn brings energy and prospective from several different avenues including being an Undrafted Free Agent. I would imagine they will draft one or two specialists and sign another as an UDRFA. Just depends on how it plays out, but I would also think they would sign a few others too for competition.

Are we the 1976 Buccs now? They also had a clean start....

  1. Jake Moody (Kicker) Michigan
  2. Michael Turk (Punter) Oklahoma
  3. Alex Ward (LS) Central Florida
There special teams solved and all on rookie contracts, plus @Selassie I loves the Central Florida guys.

My son and his wife (both UCF grads) both know him personally. He played at UCF for like 6 straight seasons. He's a damn good longsnapper and he is definitely NOT under the radar. He'll be an UDFA that goes quickly after the draft.

Some inside 411 on him... He is a very odd bird... sense of humor that is extremely peculiar. He comes off as a person with Aspergers. That could easily cause teams to walk away from him because it is THAT strange. But he is an outstanding long snapper.

Will the special teams even matter this year? If you lose consistently by 20 its special teams will make no difference.

I'm not surprised that we're going with a clean slate (now that Gay signed with the Colts. I'm still pissed about that, by the way). What I am surprised about is that Orzech and Dixon weren't re-signed to foster competition. I'm more of a Harrison Mevis fan at kicker (he's as much a weapon as any college kicker we could pick, and I'm including Jake Moody), an Adam Korsak fan at punter (I'm not sure how his rugby kicks will play in the NFL, but damn if he isn't one of the most consistent punters I've seen, like...ever.) and I don't know enough about longsnappers, so I'll jump on the Alex Ward bandwagon.

Alex Ward has been on the NFL draft radar for a few years, and is in the best position to be drafted. The 6’4" 240 pound 6th year senior was the only long snapper invited to the NFL Combine this year, and had a good performance as one of two snappers at the Senior Bowl. He was one of three finalists for the Patrick Mannelly Award each of the last two seasons, given annually to the nation’s best long snapper. Through his four years as a long snapper he was credited with no botched snaps, while displaying ideal snap speed and consistent placement. Ward is fairly active in coverage and has plus-character.
