Sean McVay announced on Monday that return specialist JoJo Natson would be out 4-6 weeks after injuring his hamstring in Week 13. It turns out he won’t be back this season as the Rams placed him on injured reserve Tuesday.
In a corresponding move, they promoted tight end Kendall Blanton from the practice squad, taking Natson’s place on the 53-man roster.

Blanton was signed by the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of Missouri this year. He’s a bigger tight end at 6-feet-6, 262 pounds, running a 4.95-second 40-yard dash at the combine. In his final season at Missouri, he caught 22 passes for 177 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games, missing three games with a knee injury.
It’s unclear if his promotion is related to Gerald Everett’s status. Everett missed Sunday’s game with a knee injury and is considered day-to-day, according to McVay.
The Rams now have four tight ends on the active roster.

And our newest Ram to the Practice Squad is TE - Ethan Wolf, TN., formerly of the Panthers.

Former Tennessee TE Ethan Wolf lands NFL contract
Keith Farner |

Ethan Wolf has found a new home as he looks to find long-term traction in his NFL career.
The former Tennessee tight end, listed at 6-foot-5 and 255 pounds, was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Wolf in 2018 was on the practice squad for the Green Bay Packers, and earlier this year was in the training camp with the Carolina Panthers.

At Tennessee, he played four seasons (2014-17) and had 998 career receiving yards with seven TDs on 91 receptions, which finished second in school history for receptions by a tight end. He had a career-high four catches twice, against Arkansas State and Georgia, each in 2014.

In 2017, Wolf passed Jason Witten for fourth-most receiving yards by a tight end in program history with a 28-yard touchdown catch at Florida.

He's one big target and seems to have pretty good hands. Looking forward to seeing him maybe get on the field a bit especially if we fall out of this playoff race.

Maybe they plan to use him as pass protection and in traffic.

More likely special teams and depth at TE. They need to have more than two healthy, just in case. I'd be surprised if plays more than a couple of plays on offense, barring injury.

Started out very rough in preseason I remember a few penalties and drops then he picked it up in game four. Hope he flashes in his chance, if he’s active on game day.

Huge fan of Blanton as a blocking tight end. In my honest opinion, he'll eventually take Mundt's job.

I'm hoping the Rams actually carry and use all 4 TE's on next seasons 53 roster. jmo.

Back up TE Gerald Everett continues with issues to remaining healthy thus far in his 3 seasons. Sure could use a healthy Everett in this up coming game.
