Los Angeles Rams at New York Jets, 1 p.m. on CBS

Game Day Thread

The GDT is a live thread tradition here at ROD.

While we all get fired up watching the game, please remember our core principles; we always show respect for our team and each other.

Despite the emotional highs and lows watching a game, we will moderate this thread with that in mind, however please refrain from name calling. This applies to players, the Rams organization, and each other.

This is the core rule of the GDT. Moderators are tasked to issue thread bans, at a minimum, to maintain this standard.

This is our team. Win or lose. Good days and bad. We are here for FUN, not to be dragged down.

A more loosely moderated atmosphere can be found in the chat room.

Go Rams!

I’ve seen a lot of people saying this is a trap game for the Rams.

They obviously don’t know McVay’s - and the team’s - mentality. They haven’t worked this hard to throw it all away now.

I’m more concerned about the adverse weather than about the Rams taking the game lightly.

I look for a better offensive showing than last game. Stafford 3 TD passes. Puka 2 TDs. We'll get some sacks. Would like to see Corum with a lot more carries especially near the end.

Trap is dismissing an opponent while looking ahead to more formidable opponents. No way the Rams and McVay are dismissing the Jets. They know they need to win out to ensure a playoff spot. They still need to execute good to excellent on both sides of the ball. Especially since the Jets offense has strengthen the last 3 games.

It's gonna be a cold one. Looks like it's gonna be in the teens for the game. Good news is the rams got to practice in shit weather last week so hopefully that carries over to today. Go rams!

We'll know by the first few plays how this day is gonna go...
Unfortunately, I don't know if that is a good indicator with this game. If so, we would have lost last week.

Regardless, if they win this game, it will be difficult to miss out on the playoffs. They know this.

Well, whether the outcome is good or bad, the general vibe of the game remains the same. What I mean is how easy or hard this is gonna be.

I feel you. The Jets are no pushovers. They have been playing better.

We need to make a statement, and it's overdue.

Big opportunity for this defensive front to get after a QB that can’t move around well. Would love to see Rodgers hit the turf a lot today.

I suppose dry weather is better than wet weather for throwing the ball. Rogers has a lot of experience in cold weather. Matthew has had his times in cold weather playing in Green Bay and Chicago. And Minnesota a few years before they built the new stadium.

You would think by now that you would know better than to make any snap judgements about a Rams game.
Yeah, we won't know how it will turn out till the 4th quarter is at zero. For once I would like to see them jump out early. Stay ahead and win comfortably. But that isn't how they operate. If they have a two score lead in the 4th quarter expect to see a two minute drive result in a TD for the Jets.
