Hey Mods, how about putting up the Rams 2024 draft order instead of last years picks. (right side of the home page) I've been all over this board trying to find how many picks the Rams have and in what rounds.

Did I miss a list somewhere?

Thanks

Still too early.

Right now, the Rams' top three picks are ... Round 1 (19th overall) ... Round 2 (52nd) ... Round 3 (83rd).

After that, they have a 3rd Round Compensatory pick for losing Morris, no 4th and two 5th rounders.

However, can not yet be sure on the exact number of draft choices, or their exact overall placement because the exact 2024 Comp picks have not yet been announced. Other than the Morris' Comp pick, I have see the Rams projected to get four ... mostly 6th round ... maybe a 5th for Mayfield.

Pretty sure it’s going to be two 3rds, no 4th ( painful gap in this draft), two 5ths, and 4 6ths.

10 picks to help carry us to the SB!

One year early on the Mayfield comp pick. Now he's looking at a 30+ million contract, which would have netted us a 3rd round comp. Dammit

My count is 11 picks...and I would guess, just like last year, they will fill that 4th rd gap with a trade down or trade up.

1
2
3
3 comp pick - Morris
5
5 From Pitt - Dotson trade
5 comp pick - Mayfield
6 from Denver - Young trade
6 comp pick - Gay
6 comp pick - Robinson
6 comp pick- Scott

The Scott comp pick is on the edge of a 6th or 7th.
We traded our own 4th, 6th, & 7th.

After some signings in FA, I suspect that it won't be that efficient to use all those picks and we may try to consolidate some of them in trades.

There simply aren't enough holes on the roster for them all.

By my count we have 11-12 starting positions open that need to be filled in 2024 by FA/Draft:

LT, OC, RG, WR3, DE, ILB, CB1, CB2, TE?, Edge 1, S, K.

So maybe we should wait for FA to make that list when it relates to draft??

I'd like a draft starting something like......

1st Verse
2nd Kris Jenkins
3rd Roman Wilson
3rd Mike Sainristil

Too many Michigan guys? :wow2:
Kalen King instead of Sainristil.

Agree...move up or trade a pick for a pick in a higher round next yr. Next yr they may need picks to go get a QB.

Yeah looks right. 11 picks

177 is the 5th rd comp, then 191 is the early 6th from Denver, with the 3 late 6th rd comp picks following.

Maybe Atwell and 177 for a pick in the 130's?

I think it depends if we can sign DRob to a reasonable extension and if there is an IOL we can’t say no to. I like the picks, just hard to give the nod over a day 2 potential OL starter.

Was watching Jordan Travis highlights. Might be an interesting option with that 100 pick or if they get one in the early 4th. Maybe gone before that, but if not at least he looks to be a legit 6-1 212 which is his listed measurable's.

I would also say after watching his highlights, man that Keon Coleman is impressive. I guess he is considered to be a top 12 guy though. WR Johnny Wilson might be another option though in the 3rd.

Update: Now seeing Coleman as low as top of 2nd. If that turns out to be the consensus, then a target if they trade back a little.

My point is the Rams have a shit load of positions up for grabs. They were successful in filling a number of open positions last year because they had so many draft picks. I don’t see any big FA signings but what do I know? I do see some 2nd/3rd wave FA signings. But that means the draft will come into play before that settles. So I think they try to get as many draft picks as possible in hopes of hitting on another 4-5 starters.

I mean, I think it's reasonable to expect that a few of the picks in the last two years will develop more into average to plus starters. I expect there will be some signings in the first wave FA but not 1st day/big payday stuff. If we use all the draft picks you suggest, why would we make signings after the draft? I think we probably look at some of the holes differently too, such as LT.

Also, just cause you have picks or players doesn't mean there's enough reps to go around. It's poor planning to just cut guys we've just drafted to pick up new draft picks without trying to develop them.

Not to you specifically PA,

The key to having an effective draft is spreading your picks and plugging up gaps and shorting them to constantly have the ability to take advantage of the ever evolving situation that is the draft.

Our back end is covered. With trade downs at the top half we will be able to have a hell of a talent haul for the future.

That's disgusting!

But we must HAIL TO THE VICTORS!:sunglasses:

In all seriousness that is a historic Michigan, most combine invites by a team ever at 18. This is the year to take them!
