Talib's mindset is based upon past Alabama teams.

Last year's Alabama team went 11-4 (winning a playoff game) with the 128th ranked rushing attack, 110th ranked OLine, and receiving targets that almost led the nation in dropped passes. Could Burrow do better with that unit? It's possible.

But, my guess is that Simpson would do better too if by some time travel he could have switched places with Burrow and had Clyde Edwards Helaire running for 6.6 ypc while throwing to Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase, and Randy Moss's son Thaddeus at TE.

Key words that many are not factoring in: "a backup plan if something were to happen."

We can't assume that Simpson won't be called upon to help sooner rather than later.

Not a bad gig if you can get it. Play 8 to 10 years (or more, though I doubt the really smart ones play that long ), get a job in the front office. Eventually become a GM. Not a bad paycheck over the course of 20-25 years.
