Really started understanding the game when Al Kaline was at the end of his career as he retired in 1974, but I recall Yankee announcers like Phil Rizzuto & Bill White raving about him. Great hitter & outfielder too, had a rifle for an arm and played the game the right way.....RIP Mr. Kaline, you were truly special.
