Do you all remember being so pumped (or concerned) when Goff/Stafford trade went down?

Do you remember the buzz at 7-1, wondering if we could catch the Cards and grab the #1 seed?

Do you recall how you felt when we dropped 3 straight and went from the hunt for #1 seed, to perhaps not even making the playoffs?

The entire goal of getting the #1 seed was to put us in the best position to get to the Super Bowl. Now we are hosting the NFC Championship for that very thing.

28 other NFL teams and tens of millions of fans would love to be in this position, and here we are.

Think about that. Take a second or two to enjoy the moment, then let’s have some perspective when cheering on our Rams tomorrow.

No matter what happens, we’re having one hell of a ride.

GO RAMS!

(Still predicting 34-13 blowout win for us)…

These past few weeks have been a lot of fun wondering if this team is going to be able to get 'er done. So having a great time regardless of how it goes.

But a season that ends with a loss to the 9ers is some bullshit nobody wants to endure. They need to win this fucking game.

We are playing the f'in NFC Championship. Yeah I want the Rams to win it all. Here are a lot of very, very, very old guys on this board who have seen some realy bad years of this fanchise. I'm a fan just a little more than 20 years, had do search for bad streams to watch the Linehan, Spagnuolo and Fisher teams in the middle of the night in a country where nobody cared about football just to be late (and pi$$ed) at work.
I want this title bad. The players and a lit of people around this team deserve it. You, fellow ROD-addicts deserve it.
But I am proud of this team no mather what... We had awful years. I enjoy every playoff moment.

I know, I KNOW we aren’t suppose to look past opponents. (Which thankfully I’m sure the actual players will not) but I can’t help to already be worried about the Chiefs :zipper:

Tom Brady's face when Matt Gay's FG went through the uprights.

Whatever happens today, it's been a great season, and one made even better by all the posters here. I always enjoy the GDT, even if we get a little doom and gloom during a loss - I'm guilty of that, too sometimes - but always some great analysis, humor, and comradery. You guys and girls are a great group of fans.

I can't help thinking today too of how this season aligned and how it reminds me of some turning points in this franchise's history. I've been a Rams fan since '79 (still remember us having that lead against the Steelers late in that SB even though most pundits predicting a blowout - think I still have the SI with cover showing our DB almost deflecting that Steeler TD pass in the 4th quarter - tough loss).

But last week and today remind me of games that seemed that really seemed to shape the Rams' course for years. Two big games, in particular. The first - ugh, hate writing the first - SB loss seemed to herald the downward spiral that was the '00s and the first half of the following decade. Those were some brutal years with little talent (was there a mediocre at best backup qb we didn't try at some point?) and atrocious coaching. Then McVay and company and this year we finally took out a Brady led team in the playoffs, so maybe that's one monkey off the back.

Thinking back further, I remember the '89 NFC championship loss to the Whiners - we took a three point lead, then the wheels fell off - Everett and the phantom sack - and it seemed like the Rams fell apart after that. The awful run during the '90s with the 17 straight brutal losses to the Whiners. I couldn't even catch any Rams games at all on tv living in the Southeast in the pre-internet and satellite days. Basically just ESPN highlights of other teams' beating us. Looking back on that span, '99 really was a miracle season.

Today we have another shot at the Whiners in the NFC Championship, a chance to make up for that '89 loss. What a season this would be if we could put both Brady and the Whiners behind us in a single playoff run.

Let's go, Rams!

The Bengals are going to beat the Chiefs in a shoot out.

Besides none of those AFC teams played defense. They haven’t faced the Rams D

While I agree that this season has been fun and I am totally proud of this Rams team I hate to admit that I am very greedy and anything short of a Super Bowl VICTORY will be a Major Disappointment to me!!!

i am looking at the game with the whiny basteds as the one that makes my season. if we beat the 69ers and end their win streak against us and keep them out of the super bowl that makes my year. than a win in the bowl is just a bonus. that is how much i hate those basteds

Well this is absolutely one memory I will never forget.

I remember being so heartbroken that if Pat Thomas or Rod Perry were 1" taller, we win that game handily. But at the same time, so proud of our team that they played so well, and gave it everything (including Jack Youngblood with a broken freaking leg). There was not one person in the world that thought we'd be leading in the 4th quarter...

LET'S GO RAMS!

2 NFC Championship games in 4 years? That's freaking awesome.

Now.. let's top that!
