Yesterday, head coach Jeff Fisher, assistant head coach Dave McGinnis and offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer shared a plethora of updates regarding the current status of the offense, defense and individual players within each aforementioned unit.
Offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, in his first year with the Rams after serving six years in the same role with the New York Jets, spoke to the situation at wide receiver, a position that is being watched extremely closely by Rams fans, do in large part to the struggles there in recent seasons.
“We’re very, very pleased with where we are,” Schottenheimer said in regard to his wide receiver corps. “A lot of the young guys are coming along. I think you see a guy like Brian Quick picking it up now. For him, third, fourth time (through the offense) he’s starting to get it. Chris Givens is showing up and then of course the veterans, they’re still a little bit ahead because they have a little bit more of the system than the ‘rooks’ do.”
