Ohio State fan here and I would like him in horns, but not in the second round. There were lots of games where he wasnt as much of a factor has he should have been

He had a great pro day and weighed in more then most expected. That should help him, but, I'm still not sold on him being a 2nd.

Fiske, Hall, Carter and Maason Smith would all be good day 2 DT's.

So we need to clone AD? Seems the only way to win in the NFL is have AD yet there's only one of him and there seem to be other teams winning without him. Truly confusing :)

Hall seemed to run hot and cold. Does that mean he doesn’t have a great motor or consistent effort?

If it does, then I’d pass. AD had it right. Make sure they want it. Make sure they have the desire. No Fishering it by thinking a coach can correct those types of flaws

Yep, best you can. Just so happens Fiske comes the closest. Isn’t that ironic?

Fiske has pretty close to AD numbers !!

Kobie Turner is not far behind.

I'm not sure if it's correct, but Mailata's 3 cone time is on a reputable site - https://nflcombineresults.com/playerpage.php?f=Jordan&l=Mailata&i=28122.
If correct, that is one of the great NFL numbers of all time - at 385 lbs????

. . . and he still went in the 7th round !

For reference, Brandon Powell (181 lbs) and Calvin Ridley (189 lbs) ran 6.88 the same year

I would love it if the Rams picked Fiske.

I think AD got quicker as the years went on through training.

Physical number comparison means nothing :) Also per AD all of those guys are at least 20 lbs heavier than he was during his playing career. AD wasn't the player he was because of his height weight or wingspan.

show me video of a DT tackling a RB and QB at the same time, I might believe he could be the next AD. What OS posted is so true.

As Snead says, the next AD doesn't exist. However, building a deep DL with active pass rush types can certainly make the DL a strength even without him.

no doubt the Rams can continue to build that D but posters need to understand that looking for the next AD is a waste of time. AD was truly special and one of a kind

What about Turner then working with AD99.Once he turned the corner Kobie just dials it in & gets after it(QB)

Fiske would be a good replacement for Jonah Williams, Kobie would prob. take DOnald's place as a DT, Fiske would be a 3-4 DE

I would love it if the Rams picked Fiske.
It would be a good pick if they could get him 2nd round ... not sure that is possible. Postional value prevents me from thinking he's a first rounder.

Exactly what I and others like @hotanez are saying. So many see AD retire and it's all "oh my god we need to take a DT at 19!!!!" No we need the same thing we need every year whether AD is here or not. Take the best player that will help the team the most. I saw one clown, not somebody here, have a mock where our first 4 picks were 2 DT a DE and and Edge all because AD retired. Completely ignored CB. We all have a very sneaky suspicion that McVay is going to take an X type WR by the end of day 2. His full draft he never even addressed ILB but hey he had a panic attack and really pounded that DT position :D

If the Rams truly think that Murray, Ruke, Sweat or Hall Jr or one of the others are the best option then great we'll all be behind the pick (well some will never be happy) but this thought that we can replace AD and we have to find a guy with the same measurements in his underwear just get us nowhere.
