NFL to hold five regional scouting combines in 2015
Posted by Mike Wilkening on January 16, 2015
The NFL will hold five regional scouting combines leading up to the 2015 NFL Draft, the league said Friday.
The combines, which are separate from the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, will be held on five consecutive Saturdays after the Super Bowl.
According to the NFL, the regional combines are open only to players who 1) are eligible for the 2015 NFL Draft, 2) played college football in 2014 and 3) exhausted all of their eligibility at the end of 2014. Also, the combines are for position players only, not specialists. The combines have a $150 registration fee, and players can only participate in one combine.
The first regional combine will take place at the Dolphins’ training facility on February 7, with combines at the practice facilities of the Texans (February 14), Broncos (February 21), Ravens (February 28) and Bears (March 7) to follow. The league will also hold an invitation-only super regional combine at the Cardinals’ practice facilities in Tempe, Arizona on March 21.
