A few months ago, we were wondering whether Sean McVay was looking for an exit ramp.

Now, he's doing one of best jobs as a coach.

He's managed to integrate a roster filled with young, inexperienced players, and put a competitive and well-prepared team on the field. He's navigated Cooper Kupp's injury and Steton Bennett's absence without allowing either to be a disruption. He's done a great job of game planning and adjusting in real time. The team is playing together, and should play even better as the youngsters get more live reps.

Given how well he's doing his job, I'm not inclined to question, on any level, the apparent demise of Cam Akers as a Ram. I don't have a need to know every detail. I trust that McVay is enforcing, rather than just rotely repeating, the "we not me" concept.

In Sean I trust.

seems like we already have a thread about this bro.
Which “bro” are you referring to, McVay or Cam?

Or did you forget to put a comma after “this”?

Mods… I defer to your judgment on whether to merge this. Thanks!

Never crossed my my mind to question McVay on this issue. Now, his choice of backup QB on the other hand... :D

Trust in McSnead

Unless they say something then it'll get written off as coach speak. But then that's only if a poster agrees with what he says, or implies or hints at I think.....

Yes McVay deserves our trust and respect. But like right above this some will question other things and will get upset with you if you question something they agree with. It's all so confusing. I think I need a drink.

We have another thread about trusting mcvay? Which thread?
We already have a thread about Akers but some posters feel that their opinion is so important that it deserves its own thread
Alas....

As I always say to takes like this: that's great if you fully believe that McVay and Snead are doing everything perfect. But that doesn't mean everyone else has to believe the same. And in fact the board is more fun when everyone isn't agreeing on everything.

So let the natives run around drunk trying to fuck or burn everything. @Loyal will recover from that sore ass sooner or later.

McVay and Snead don't have a problem. It's Akers who has the problem. He doesn't like losing his starting job. Someone tell him it's the NFL that's how it works. He's being shopped because Akers doesn't like the "We not Me" anymore. Why would they shop him if he accepted the reality?

Shelton used his reps as a backup to prove his worth, but was released in favor of Allen. Then brought back and competed and now he's the starter and a damn good one. Joe Noteboom lost his start at LT but accepted his new role where he actually has played well until his injury again. Aker's wants a bigger role? Why isn't he returning kicks and punts?

My point is it's not on Snead and McVay, it's on Akers.

Perfect? No.

Achieving a level of goodwill that merits substantial deference? Yes.

Mcvays record Speaks for itself. I would be an idiot to want a different coach.

The only current coaches that have made multiple Super Bowls with two different QB’s (that I can think of) is Mcvay and Reid.

Mcvay did it with Goff and no Kupp.

But even if you got Reid who’s 65 years old, you would need to get Mahomes.

You could get Shanahan, but he hasn’t won a SuperBowl.

This doesn’t make Mcvay perfect or mistake free. We can discuss his decisions or even question them. But questioning his value seems stupid.

I will take a backseat to no poster in my admiration and respect for Sean McVay as Ram HC.

But even so I do have those few questions about certain things.

Why so few 12 sets when our run game is struggling?

Why is Dotson not getting any snaps after making a substantial investment in him?

Why is Jefferson still starting?

Why is Kendrick still starting?

Imagine that… someone managed to respond with pertinent comments that have nothing to do with Cam. It’s almost like this topic is primarily about McVay (with Akers serving as an example).

I’m not prepared to quibble about formations after two games in which the offense has generated 11 scoring drives.

As for Jefferson and Kendrick…I agree that, going forward, their hold on their starting spots is questionable.

Dotson? We swapped a 2024 4th round pick for a 5th, and a 2025 5th for a 6th. That’s not all that much. I’m not surprised he wasn’t immediately made a starter. With Noteboom hurt, though, I could see him challenging Anchrum for the spot.

My trust in McVay doesn’t mean he can’t be questioned. It just means that I trust he’ll make the right decisions in the vast majority of situations.

So you interpret my complimenting the job McVay has done this year as an attempt to start an argument?

Weird. :eyeroll:

Now, I have a question… how many times will you respond and repeat your assertion that this thread is redundant before you recognize the irony inherent in your approach?
