Rams just continue to bob 'n weave their way through injuries. It's crazy. I figured it would be a longshot to get Jones back before we get eliminated. But after how good we looked game one the thought of getting him back too... Wow.

It would be really nice to get Ernest Jones and SJD back. Both of them would be a nice boost to the defense. Hopefully Jones will be able to play at least. It would just add to the high I’ve been riding since last night.

Whitworth's injuries are a concern. That 40 year-old body may be starting to catch up with him. That sucks, because this could be the end of his career.

For those that don't know, and I'm pretty sure you guys do, this may be one of the low key most important guys in this organization and I hope Stan has told him to just come to him so he can counter and offer.

If I'm Kroenke, I make it clear to him that he's our guy until it's time for a Gold Watch. NO WAY he leaves if I had a say about it.

There are literally 31 other teams who'd take this guy in a heartbeat. As far as coaches/trainers, Reggie Scott may be the 3rd most important guy in the building after McVay and Morris.... if not higher.

Reggie Scott deserved a game ball for last night, for sure.

No, he just got his ankle rolled from behind. He'll play.

If you go back and look at the play where he was injured by having his ankle rolled up on you’d realize age had nothing to do with it. Any Olinemen would have been injured on that play. The true testament to Whitworth’s worth is that he’s not going to miss a game like many Olinemen would.

My in-laws are his next door neighbor. They tell me he and his wife are the nicest ever.

tip o the cap to Travin Howard for stepping up....he's flashed several times, and it's great to get some of these guys meaningful time in BIG games...only a benefit moving forward...

Any body that thinks the rams had no depth have got to be idiots. We have had all kinds of back ups step up during the last half of the season. Next man up. Also I would say good job making adjustments along the way to all the coaching staff. Morris included.

Howard did have one hell of a game. To include running a deep route stride for stride with a wideout and forcing an incompletion.

No idea how long he can keep it up but having role players beast out is a great sign for a Super Bowl hopeful.

Idiots? Lol

Well every team has depth. Some teams have better depth than others. I recall the Rams playing some injury depleted teams in recent years and losing to them.

But consider that there is different quality of depth. For instance last year when some of us lamented the loss of JJ and Hill, so many here said the Rams have the depth to deal with it. The defense took a hit because the depth wasn’t as good as the players lost. Then the third string guys become your second string. Sure recency bias may make it look like a no brainer. But the Rams DBs had a relatively easy job against Arizona. Murray played like crap and the defensive line did all of the work.

But I recall Reeder, Long and Deayon being picked apart by San Francisco in the second half of that last game. Their tackling was pathetic too.

Kingsbury isn’t at Shanahan's level when it comes to exploiting weaknesses. I hope that Snead can add better quality starters and depth in the Rams secondary this off-season.

Also look at the starters. Fuller is not at JJs level. Rapp can tackle but can’t cover. Rochelle is a raw athlete. Williams has struggled in his new role. Outside of Ramsey they could upgrade the entire unit with middle of the road free agents if they had cap space.

The Rams stuck with Howard for a reason. One he’s inexpensive but they must have liked him. He was supposed to start for the last two seasons. He’s just a guy fans didn’t get to see much of since he was drafted. He plays like a capable starter.

The way Howard is playing right now I imagine him doing that after we get Jones back and I get really excited. Howard's prob has always been navigating traffic, tracking the ball carriers, etc. But in the passing game there's no doubt the guy covers ground and can at least stay with faster players out of the backfield. So the pairing of those two seems like it would be a good one.

And I should probably say here that Reeder obviously did a great job too given how well the defense played. He was in the right spot a lot which is his weakness. Whenever Reeder is near the play he tends to get it done, it's about him actually ending up where he needs to be. But I'm real happy with the way both those guys played. :thumbsup1:

Reeder is a great blitzer but a very poor coverage guy.

I would have Reeder show he is blitzing or delay blitzing on ALL passing downs and then drop back half the time.

Mix it up by moving him around back there too on those passing downs

And have Rapp move up after Reeder is blitzing
