Fate. I'd honestly rather watch that damned Skins game before I watch the Blues season. I have no hope for that team. Honestly think that all I can expect at this point is dealing good prospects and first round picks for shitty old veterans on the final year of their deal, having to live with the absolute worst and most cowardly captain in all of hockey in David Backes, the coach who can't get his ass out of the trap era in Hitchcock, and the GM who sucks utter monkey balls in Doug Armstrong.
So what if we have Tarasenko, Schwartz, Pietrangelo, Shattenkirk, and Reaves (who is one of the best fourth line players in the game and does his job) if they're going to be stuck with perennial losers like Backes and Ott? So what if we have good young talent like Jaskin, Fabbri, Barbashev, Parayko, and Lindbohm if Hitchcock doesn't like or trust them? So what if our scouting department can find guys late if Armstrong just deals them away for scrubs along with our fucking first round picks, like he probably will this year?
I don't care if this Blues team makes the playoffs. In fact, I almost don't want them to make the playoffs, so that they can blow it up. I honestly want them to admit that they need to grow young again. Just trade the elders for the most you can get (Steen aside), re-sign Schwartz to a long-term deal and make him the captain. Get guys like Fabbri and Barbashev into your system now and admit that they can play. Give Jaskin a larger role than the damned third line.
