@Ramhusker

That bitch's eye is headed straight for Tally and you guys are nearly right behind that. They say it may be a Cat 4 by landfall late today.

Sure hope it loses strength fast. This bitch is a fast moving storm... fast movers do weaken faster than slow movers when they hit landfall. Slow movers are the most destructive storms by far. Fast movers do tend to bring bigger wind gusts though because you really should add the storms movement speed to the wind speed for a true total but they don't do that. All hurricanes suck... but a fast one is the lesser of the two evils.

Check in when you can my Brudda!

Yeah, a saving grace when a storm is 200 miles wide. Good thing is we haven’t got a lot of rain before it gets here. The poor people an hour west of here have had a deluge. That’s not a good combination.

Yeah, some poor bastards down on the gulf coast have recently let their insurance lapse because it has gotten so damn expensive. They really need prayers right about now.

I'm living in Asheville now and it's been pouring rain here for 3 days already and then we're going to get another 3 days from Helene.
We're looking at over a foot of rain with the ground already saturated.

Prayers for everybody south of here.

Watch out for some mud slides. That’s too much rain for the mountains.

Yeah we're under wind advisories in freaking Illinois from this hurricane coming at us from the East by tonight. Hurricanes almost never move west when they hit land and the speed in which its going is crazy. Just a really weird ass storm. I saw there were wind gusts up to 133 mph 60 miles inland in Georgia. That's crazy.

Man, Florida is a beautiful state but those damn hurricanes. Hope you all are safe. A few days ago this one didn't seem like much. Now its the strongest one in a few years.

Central Florida is fine. We had some winds last night... but nothing really bad.

The sun is out and it's beautiful except for the small debris from the trees. We're headed out to the beach (East Coast of FL) later today.

The West Coast of the State is flooded along the coastline because the the surge.

But the Big Bend area and Tally are gonna look like bombs were dropped or worse.

Hopefully @Ramhusker and his peeps are all fine. It was headed right for him in Valdosta.

Finally getting some internet. We have massive damage here again, probably worse than Debbie and Idalia. i was lucky. Everybody is whole. I had six trees down or snapped off and none hit the house or vehicle, just a hefty price to get cleaned up. Prayers to all that have it much worse. How is everybody else here from the Southeast? Some bad flooding north of here I’m just now hearing. Soul Surfer checked in yet? I know he is in Asheville, NC.

Hope Soul Surfer is good. Every road leading to Asheville is either washed out or blocked. Massive flooding and mudslides. They are isolated.

Yep, we had up to 135 gusts according to the airport. That’s pretty stout for these parts.
