I'm fairly sure McVay will approach it in the same way as he would if it were Week 2, but it's a weird one.

We only need to beat the divisional games to take the West.

A wild card is likely out of reach for any NFC West teams, with the Packers having home games against the Saints and Bears left.

Winning out could be the difference between 3rd and 4th seed, which could mean we face the Commodes rather than the Packers.

I'm not suggesting we rest key players, but I'd be giving an extra week to anybody who could seriously benefit from a bye week. I'd hate to pick up a key injury with two such huge games coming up.

You always play to win.

Start the normal starters and then rest them if/when the game is in safe keeping. We can't take the Jets too lightly after yesterday's performance, where it looked like Rodgers and Adams were getting into the groove.

It will be almost impossible for us to play DC. They will be the 7 seed, we are not catching Philly.

Now here is the scenario id like.

1) Obviously win the West.

2) Minnesota wins the North.

Detroit comes to SoFi, and we beat em and Goff throws 3 picks under constant pressure from the Kids.

You play to win, period.
Lose to the Jets and the Cards win, they are in 1st place in the NFC West. We need to go in there and destroy the Jets to keep the momentum going...

I think McVay has learned about resting players and playoff momentum. Never take your foot off the gas this late in the season.

Weather is going to be a high of 25, sunny with winds of 10-15 mph. Stick with the run and bootleg play action passes and on defense, they need to pressure Rodgers because that will frustrate him. Their interim Head Coach Jeff Ulbrich is not the sharpest tool in the shed, so the key to beating a bad team is not allowing them to hang around.

Pedal to the metal from here on out. Have to look at each game as a playoff contest.....because it is.
Its really not, win the last 2 games and you win the division.

Trust me I want to win no doubt, but more important lets get out with ZERO injuries....

Where did I say rest players?
We are essentially healthy and at full strength for the Jets game AND the team gets a mini-bye after Thurs night. Even Higbeast will be playing the Jets, per Sean McVay. If you are taking players off the field during game for fear of injury, you are resting them.

I think you are interpreting something I never stated.

I never said rest players. I said lets get out injury free, that does not mean rest players.

Wildcard isn’t out of the picture. Washington still plays Philly, Dallas, and Atlanta. If they lose 2 of those, the wildcard is alive for the 2nd place NFCW team.

OK then, that's fine. But I wasn't the only person in this thread that Interpreted your meaning that the Jets game wasn't that important and so play the game to avoid injury. Nobody here wants a Rams player injured, but IMO you can't play scared of it. This game vs the Jets is so important that it might give us a cushion against an unexpected loss vs. the Cards or Hawks. We are better than them, but doesn't always matter in a rivalry game. Hence, all gas, no bakes!

It’s going to be 25 degrees if the forecast doesn’t change. That will be tough on a warm weather West coast team.

Plan on running the ball. Keep the clock rolling.
