Is... is Dan Pompei the new Rams beat writer?!?
Sorry, but I gotta bitch again. I can’t stand hitting the link for articleswhere the first thing they do is ask you for more money to read shit that everybody else gives you for free. I had to get that off my chest.
It’s like going to Subway and being asked to give a tip to somebody who merely made a sandwich for me.

I remember so many saying what a mistake it was to trade up for Fiske. Well, it all worked out. He's well worth the trade up on its own merit. But they got that second round pick back with the Falcons trade. A higher one than it would have been. Sure, we gave up our first but all we did was defer it to next year. So in the end, the net worth was a very good defensive tackle and a higher second round pick. We would have been in upper 50's with our own pick. Not to mention the Falcons first will be higher than our own. Les can sure work his magic.

Yeah, I figured $2 a week is less than a Sunday paper. It's an up and coming source for sports news. Great value and hell, they recognized JR for her coverage of the Rams so, why not? I'm a team player.:laugh2:

Besides, it was the only way to read the article and what an article it was! How long can we keep those two together? Long, I hope!

The off-season work:

Verse:
Verse estimates he used a power rush 90 percent of the time as a rookie. He beat Dolphins left tackle Terron Armstead with a power move, and Armstead later said Verse was one of the players who led him to retire.

In the offseason, however, Verse has developed his speed rush as a complement. “That will give tackles something to be scared of,” he says.

Fiske:
Fiske, meanwhile, focused on identifying his own tendencies in the run game. He also recommitted to being the best he can physically, stretching more and improving his diet. He weighs 293 pounds — up eight pounds — and says his body fat is lower. A tear in his patellar tendon required arthroscopic surgery, but he returned to practice in the spring.

https://archive.ph/ (ARCHIVE TODAY) Is a great way to read one-off articles from subscription news sites.
I won't post the completed link here, I think that disrespectful to the author's of these articles, but you can copy the URL yourself and paste the link over at ARCHIVE TODAY to finish reading damn near anything out there these days.

No worries, it’s not Dostoevsky but I’d say for me it’s worth the 24 bucks
If I had a $1 for every time a ROD poster mentioned Dostoevsky, I would only need another $23 to afford a subscription to the Athletic.

What's amazing about Kobie Turner is that he amassed his stats last year, which are pretty damn amazing, (8 sacks, 35 solo tackles and assisted on 27 more, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble while batting down four passes) is that he was the most double teamed player in the league last year according to ESPN stats.
He's probably going to be double-teamed even more this year which will open up things for our other front 5/6.

Come on regular season! :)

No doubt. Worst thing is as a diehard fan it's not like that shit is going to be worth the money. You probably know more about the Rams than he does. Only thing they can offer is direct info from the team.

And the tip thing is out of fucking control in American society. Bottom line is tips go to someone who waits on you. And in rare circumstances someone who you know went out of their way, above and beyond, to take care of you or make you comfortable. The fucking entitlement is some BS though I do tend to avoid the places that bring that shit to the fore.

I mean I refuse to overpay for coffee or tea for example, when coffee at home is as good or usually better. And they're notorious for that tip pushing shit, as well as "do you want to give to x" bullshite. Also I still get pissed when my wife and I are leaving the pet store and she gives money to the popup option to help shelters or whatever. Not because I have a problem giving money to shelters. But because I suspect none of it makes it to the actual animals. And that goes for any "do you want to give" option for that matter.
