Haha and the dudes mad he was fired? Remember that.

Shit I can’t remember who it was that right away pegged McVay as a good candidate and I thought there was no way in hell we’d have a 30 as a HC. Lmao Amazing thing is now he’s our winningiest franchise HC.

I for one, don't hate Fisher... I mean, he didn't hire himself - someone offered him the job and he accepted.

It just could have worked out a lot better!

His best season was his first. He immediately built a defense that was above average, especially the DL. The Rams made some noise and became relevant again. We were all willing to look past the mistakes and flaws. Hey, next year will be better, right? We just need an offense. When Pead and Quick come around…

Then the Rams swapped their 1rst and 2nd round picks to move up in the 1rst round in the next draft to pick Tavon Austin. The Rams missed the mark and put a hole in the boat big enough to eventually sink it.

Patterson, Hopkins, Allen, and our beloved Robert Woods were all in that same draft. Last time I checked, they’re still playing. One has a ring and the others are probably headed to Canton.

It was downhill from there.

It wasn’t all bad, though. McVay inherited Higbee, Havenstein, and of course, AD99–who was picked when the DL was the strongest unit on the team.

I was extremely excited we hired him, remembering the guy who willed his Titans team to "get in the game!" to almost tie us in the Super Bowl.
He could get us to 7-9 and no higher and almost all Rams fans acknowledged it was time for him to go when fired. I lost a lot of respect when he was filmed acting hard done by, after the firing...a lot of respect.

If not for hiring Fisher in the first place, we wouldn't have gotten Snead either most likely.
They built a badass defense right away, and a really good special teams too.

McVay had some serious pieces here when he came in and revamped the offense.
So I'd say everything worked out for the best.

I still think Fisher gets a bad rep. He never once had his QB1. In fact, he lost him always at the very beginning of the season, or even before the season began, for an entire year. How many coaches would have done markedly better in that situation? McVay is 10x better and in particular for today's NFL, but Fisher gets cast as incompetent too often, I don't think that is fair, glad to move on, but don't think he warrants a firing celebration thread. He was decent, even if we needed better to take the next step, and built a pretty good roster for McVay to take over

Fisher got even hornier watching our game than Puka did on that route. 12-6 win in the rain while running the ball like 40+ times? Fisher said it's his time again.

Don’t forget he gets all the credit for building this Rams team the way it is today.

Gutsy win today. We can win them exciting, and we can win in the trenches. Game ball to the entire D and special teams. Shout out to Kyren, you earned the tub this week. Hats off, respect.

Happy for what Fisher did here. He cleansed the franchise of the disastrous mess it was in, and at least left a level playing field for McVay to take over.

Some funny comments on Fisher and this FG game really gave some Fisher Feels.

But on the real, this game to me, was one that showed the maturity of Mcvay.

Mcvay, through multiple iterations of this same challenge vs the Niners has learned the lessons through painful losses of how to get the Win.
The niners force you to play their game. They are always a cookie cutter offense playing it safe but a fierce disciplined shutdown defense that makes you impatient until you turn the ball over.

Mcvay has learned to build a more physical team that can grind out hard yards and some physical WR's that pull down some hard catches. He got his QB in Stafford and despite some close calls you could see the commitment to avoid the bad plays, both taking sacks, throwing into trouble etc.

The 3rd and long run call was a huge call in this game and showed Mcvay is still inovating on how to beat the Niners style of defense.

I feel like Mcvay now has a blueprint to beat the Niners after several years of Niner dominance vs us.

These Niners games will always be ugly and force Mcvay to concede his high scoring offense approach in exchange for a smashmouth no turnover game that gives the Rams the best chance for the win.
