Jamil Demby stepped in at left guard after Joseph Noteboom tore his ACL and MCL last week against the 49ers, but he won’t remain the replacement at that spot. Sean McVay said at his press conference on Wednesday that the Rams will start rookie David Edwards at left guard on Sunday against the Falcons.

“It’s looking like we’ll see David Edwards at that guard spot,” McVay said. “We’re very confident that he’ll be able to step in and do a nice job.”

Demby has really struggled this season when replacing Noteboom and Austin Blythe at both guard spots. Edwards played exclusively at tackle in college at Wisconsin, but he lined up at guard during the preseason and in training camp.

The Rams are known for cross-training their offensive linemen, largely thanks to O-line coach Aaron Kromer, and this is a big reason why. It’s important to have versatile players who can play multiple positions, which Edwards will put on display this weekend.

This upcoming game vs the Falcons will be good for the OL. Edwards at LT? Was Whit that bad? I sure hope they don't put in Demby at LG, hope its the new guy Corbett.

with M Brown nursing injury, I expect Gurley to get the majority of carries. Hope he sees this as a chance to prove he still has it. If rams don't dominate this game, stick a fork in 'em.

I think after this season Demby is out of the league...

They might cut him this year once Corbett gets up to speed and if Edwards shows well. I believe in Edwards, his stock dropped because of a shoulder injury that he kept playing through. Still needs to add strength, but has good feet and his pass blocking should be solid.

I'm hoping he's the starting left guard for the next dozen years.

More good news, nice to hear this.

Would like to also see them bring up Gervase now that JJ has been IR'd, ... and release Demby.

They don't have to dominate. They just have to squeeze out 7 or 8 wins out of 10.
Every player and coach just woke up this week. If there was a hangover, everybody should be sobered up now.
Lots of young talented dudes getting chances.. Just what this team needed in terms of energy and focus.
The last two games through to London will be the crucible that forges the character of this team.

Guys, we were one pussyfart in Seattle on the kick from being 4-2.
If we can get to the bye with a couple we should win, we could come out better than ever. Its totally possible. We will need 8 out of 10, maybe 7. We can get that.

I'm pumped again.

I hope so as well. Edward's playing decent at guard would be a huge relief.

I also hope we've seen the last of Noteboom at Guard.
We need him to be able to stay on his game at LT next year.
That is, if hes even ready.

Yep. That's very good news. I think the entire OL shows better this Sunday.

I was hoping for the best with Demby. Thought he might show something if given the chance, but it wasn't working. Good for them to take a shot here. I wonder where Corbett slots in after he gets up to speed. Could just be a super-sub. But one has to wonder if he replaces Brian Allen if Allen continues to struggle.

In Kromer PC he was asked what he like about Corbett. One thing was that he can bend well to play center. As a g/c he instantly is more versatile than Demby. If Austin Corbett progresses quickly maybe we even see him swap positions with Allen by next season. Corbett to Center and Allen to backup Guard/Center, or even right guard.

Before we celebrate we might want to see him play some, though I do personally think he's *eventually* going to be really good

This only means that they think he's ahead of Evans and of course Corbett isn't ready yet in this offense.

Can't wait to see who the game-day actives on the O line are this week after the starters.
Evans?
Corbett?
Demby?
