Statistically speaking he was a top 5 or 6 QB? Led his team to the NFCCG? Looks pretty market value if you take off the Goff hating lenses that some will see it through.

Agreed.

Also, I watched the replays of the playoff games on NFL network this week and Goff was playing lights out in the playoffs. Two drops by Reynolds, 1 TD drop by Williams and a fumble by Gibbs or the Lions are in the Super Bowl.

We know his limitations but with a top Oline his value to them is worth big money. The Market is what it is.

Watch Goff finally be able to gain some serious weight this season.

I wouldn't be surprised if he has a full beer belly by September. lol

Like his last contract it looks huge. But then the next guy to sign will beat that, and the guy after that will get even more, and so on, and pretty soon it won’t look so big, comparatively speaking. His last contract looked huge when he signed it and looked like a bargain last season.

Wow. Not unexpected but wow. I'm sure Stafford has a full on chub seeing that and will certainly want more on his contract.

Herbert is more talented but Goff has certainly done more with what he has.
He has taken 2 teams to CCGs, one to a SB. Herbert hasn't got there yet. Lamar has got to the CCG but lost. Hurts and Burrow, like Goff have won CCG but lost the SB. How many active QBs have done more than Goff? Mahomes and Stafford. The guy has earned what he got. The key, IMO, is he's won with 2 teams.

Regardless of what anyone else says and like Old School said, If one can just remove the "Goff hating lenses", it is a well deserved contract. He has definitely produced the statistical numbers to support the contract. I root for him as a person and wish him well. I spent plenty of time yelling at the TV while watching him blow clutch situations, but he has matured and progressed and congratulations are in order.

Good for him. JG is a baller, and this contract, while deserved, hopefully hurts the Lions a bit. They are, after all... The enemy.

Goff’s a damn good QB. You can spend a lot of resources trying to find someone better. He’s durable too.

My first thought. Detroit is our main competition now and they knew this would give Stafford the ammo to get a raise too, hurting our cap a little. And the Rams will have to do it to keep this train running.

Naw. Stafford knows he is underpaid, he just wants his $$ guaranteed.

When i read this i thought about Lynch wincing over Purdy's 2025 demand.
