Very athletic smaller sized edge who only played one year. Looks like a PS candidate while he spends time in the weight room.

Well.. he's explosive as hell and has long arms. Feels like a good "why not" swing.

Relentless and humble are one kick ass combination. I'm definitely rooting for this kid.

I like this pick.

I would like it better if they could draft a guy named Laurel to pair him with.

The Rams do a great job of getting driven, mature, smart football players. They do not suffer fools. See Jackson.

The Rams are quietly onboarding some sneaky stud small school edge rushing freaks with Garrett and Hardy. The addition of Hardy should push Garrett to work even harder. Iron sharpens Iron (small school freaks).

Daniel Hardy: The Los Angeles Rams have selected Montana State edge rusher Daniel Hardy in 7th round with pick No. 235 in the 2022 NFL Draft.

The 6-foot-2, 235-pound Hardy had 77 total tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 16 sacks and two forced fumbles. His production earned him an invite to the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, where he had the chance to showcase his skills in front of professional scouts and coaches.

The Spun: There’s so much talk about the level of competition for “small schools.” Do you think those concerns are fair?

DH: Not necessarily. However, I think the level of competition we faced this year was very high. There are a lot of guys from the FCS who are in the NFL. At the end of the day, it’s kind of a gray area because at the end of the day football is football.

The Spun: Which pass rushers do you like to study on film?

DH: T.J. Watt is my go-to player to watch on film. I also watch Joey Bosa, Nick Bosa, Cam Jordan, Aaron Donald and guys like that. Those guys are freaks of nature.

Chris Garrett: The Los Angeles Rams have selected Concordia-St. Paul outside linebacker Chris Garrett with the 252nd pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The 6-foot-3, 243-pound Garrett tied for the Division II lead with 14 sacks in 2019, also producing 69 tackles (20.5 for loss), seven forced fumbles and five pass breakups passes in 11 games, starting in 10 of them.

That performance garnered First Team Associated Press All-American and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Year recognition, in addition to being a finalist for the Cliff Harris Award (small college defensive player of the year).
Concordia-St. Paul did not play football in the fall of 2020 due to COVID-19 concerns.
