How tough must it be for Jerrah and the Cowboy fans? The Texas Rangers win the World Series last year and the previous season the Astros did it. The Dallas Mavericks lost in the 2023-24 finals and won it all in 2010-11. The Stars lost the finals in 2019-20 and won it all in 98-99. The Cowboys haven't won it all in almost 30 years and haven't got past the division round since 1995. Man, that's gotta hurt. In the most popular of the 4 major sports, the NFL's Cowboys have the longest drought among Texas teams. Wow! Makes me want to call a couple of my friends who are Cowboy fans!

I'm loving at the hate being flung there way this year. Dallas fans are jumping ship and getting on the Houston bandwagon. There training camp which is usualy full with spectators has been mostly empty from all the videos Ive seen.

Yeah. I follow Mark Holmes on YouTube, who runs an all things cowboys channel, just to keep tabs on the Cowboy's going-ons. He visited their camp last week for a few days and posted a video talking (whining) about the small crowds in attendance this year compared to previous year's camps.

Poor Cowboys. They end last year on a total downer and start this season off the same!

Go Cowboys!

There's nothing easier than hating on the Dallas cowboys.
There are some hilarious video clips of cowboy haters on Instagram.
My favorite are a couple of guys that are wearing cowboy hats dancing around that are light in the loafers, (preparing for the season).

Jerruh's ego is the issue. He will never recover from successfully "playing GM" with a top head coach who carried him in that role. Since that time he has not come close to having a good grasp on personnel. There have been some hits on players, like Parsons for example, but truth is I doubt he can devote as much time to stacking the roster as a dedicated GM with a good head on his shoulders and experience from a scouting background, and certainly will never be as efficient.

Also his head coach evaluation has been shit. Too much priority on guys who won't buck him and not enough on innovation and leadership strength. McCarthy is a good offensive mind, no doubt about it, but he's a shit leader and that will catch up to you in the playoffs when you face off with top coaches and good rosters.

Lastly he's infecting his son with his nonsense. If the kid has half a brain the first thing he'll do when Pops kicks the bucket is hire a top GM to run his organization and report to him. But by the time that window opens I am sure he'll be hooked on playing GM like his Daddy.

Last I checked the Cowboys were still the most valuable pro sports franchise. Their legions of fans are apparently simple marketing victims, since their popularity doesn’t seem to be football-related.

Their fans hate it when you point out NFl championships existed before the SB era (Niners fans too). The Rams have won 4. I think the Packers have won 13?

I despise the marquee teams AKA the media pet teams. Every league has them.

These teams have the largest fan base so the media won’t stop covering them even if there’s nothing to talk about. Fan base = consumers.

The Cowboys and the Raiders are a prime example for this phenomenon. Huge fan base(of idiots) that haven’t won big games in decades but the media treats them like they’re so important and relevant.

The Bears have been awful for what seems like forever but there they are, on your tv, radio and podcast constantly being hyped and covered.

Hell, even podunk destinations like Green Bay and Kansas City are marquee teams because of the huge National fan base. At least these teams are currently relevant so the coverage is less irritating.

The powers that be, marketing “geniuses” and media producers everywhere had no idea how to program a show or find a narrative when the Bengals faced the Rams in the biggest game of the year.
“Okay guys and gals, don’t forget to talk about the Dallas early exit drama in between the interviews with that MacVee guy and coach what’s his name in Cincinnati.

I despise marquee teams.
