We are the Los Angeles Rams. That means the bell cow running back. A stud who piles up yardage, carries and TDs and goes to Pro Bowls.
Never been a fan of the running back by committee. That's for other teams as far as I am concerned.
Get them a few carries here and there.
But I would like to see Hunter emerge as our guy.

He's the most physically gifted back on the field for us, without question. If there isn't a rookie learning curve, then it's going to be hard to keep him off the field.

The problem with the bell cow is if he gets hurt, there’s a huge drop off.

By all accounts, Hunter is a quick study in absorbing & assimilating offensive details. So he may hit the field quicker and more frequently than most rookie RBs under the McVay regime. As always the key issue for the Leprechaun is the following:

Sean (to Hunter): "If I allow you on the football field in a real game, will Matthew remain healthy with respect to your pass protection efforts? You see, we are trying to complete a successful Super Bowl run here."

Echoing my other post on Ferguson, I just hope this RB is special. I’m not convinced he even gets onto the field this year.
I liked his film more than Fergs but overall I have my doubts that we improved our skill positions much(this season) and with Stafford possibly leaving soon I felt we needed to do more.

If Fergs and Hunter play in preseason they’d better look like studs among boys.

I don’t expect Ferguson to play in preseason and Hunter to play sparingly, history shows us that.

FWIW Ferguson gave the Buckeyes fits when they played them.

Just for clarification, do you see him "leaving" meaning jumping to another team next year and starting all over again at 38? Because I don't. That boy is built different than Rodgers or Brady. And his wife will twist his ball-sack if he even thinks about taking those little girls out of their world they have come to love. (Reportedly)

If you mean possibly retiring after this year. I would concur that is possible.

I was listening to a podcast recently that noted that OG's like Rodgers, Cousins, etc. are risk-averse in their 30's and the one exception he noted that is still tough-as-nails and will stand in the pocket and take contact, is our John Matthew Stafford.

The best comp for Fergs is Gerald Everett. I can’t find it but I’m almost positive he played in preseason. Either way it’s too soon to call which rookies will sit or play.

I get that you don't like Fergy as a pick but Gerald Everett is a terrible comp. Way off on that one my man.

Everett is an undersized TE whose raw athleticism doesn't translate due to him demonstrating shit like halfass blocking, poor hands, lack of give a fuck over the middle, poor instincts in space, sloppy routes, easily redirected by safeties, etc. Not saying he does all those things consistently. But lack of consistency is also a drawback for him. :laugh3:

Fergy is a full sized TE with good hands and movement/athleticism and a completely different profile of drawbacks. He needs a ton of work on his blocking, but the Rams aren't going to use him as an inline blocker as a rook. He'll be in there as a slot option when they want a big target over the middle or like his mismatch vs that defense. They'll scheme up some touches for him I am sure as well, because he doesn't look like he's fast but he's fast and can roast you on wheels and crossers.

I think the upside comp for him is Kelce. Kelce of course is best case scenario, but they have a lot of similarities in raw skills and if Fergy can clean up his route tree watch out. Also Fergy is benefitting from a great offensive mind in terms of scheming him open. And McVay has been pining for a real TE for years now so he's going to pour into this kid.

The comp was in reference to whether or not he’d play in McVay’s preseason.
2nd rd TE

Not a direct comp for the player type. Sorry I wasn’t clear on that.

Wow - that will be interesting. Different times under Mcvay, but I’m going to guess we’ll see Ferguson in the preseason. He needs reps & The Rams will probably want to show case home a little is my guess.
Really hard call & to say, especially not knowing about training camp.

Parkisian is IMO over looked as a solid TE. To the point some are saying he might have been cut already & even before the Draft.

Davis Allen is the guy (player) that disappeared & didn’t show much in 2024.Ferguson will be NIGHT & DAY as a Receiver than any Rams TE including Higbee. Tyler will get his,but the style is going to be totally different than what we’ve seen as Ram Fans ??
I’m going based on the info I have & what I’ve visioned from OTA’s.Mcvay said it & I’ll say a Poor Teams Kelce.Your not going to get much blocking out of him ?

Tbh I’m expecting to see a heavy dose of all draft picks, with the exception of Konata…but I do think he gets some playing time

If he gets the ball enough he will make a big impact. Can never have enough explosive play makers.
