EARTH CITY, Mo. -- The St. Louis Rams signed guard Davin Joseph to a one-year contract late last week, adding some much-needed veteran depth to the offensive line.
The former two-time Pro Bowler struggled in 2013 after missing 2012 with a knee injury. That combination ultimately cost Joseph his job with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and left enough questions about his ability to rebound that he remained on the free-agent market for nearly three months.
Now at 30, Joseph will get a chance to bounce back on what looks like the very definition of a one-year prove-it deal.
Here's the breakdown of Joseph's contract with the Rams, per ESPN Stats & Information.
2014
Total possible value: $1.75 million
Base salary: $1.1 million
Roster bonus: $300,000 (paid on May 30)
Additional roster bonus: Up to $350,000 (earns $21,875 per game active)
Notes: The contract also allows for Joseph to earn up to an additional $1 million in what the league calls "not likely to be earned" incentives. Details of those NLTBE's were not immediately available.
