There’s an article on the athletic about how bengals players are dealing with losing the SB. It kind of surprised me how many of these guys were talking about their favorite play being the td Jalen gave up that was pretty clearly PI.
I get that shit happens that gets missed by the refs, I mean we had a PI that benefited us that didn’t get called back in ‘18, but I just thank the football gods and move on. My friends asked about it at the time and I just smiled and said there was no flag but all these bengal players are talking about what a great play it was when everyone on the planet saw Higgins yank on Ramsey’s face mask hard enough that he fell down. But I guess there wasn’t that much for the bengals to get excited about, their other td was a trick play.

It's easy to shake your head, and move on with life when you hold the Lombardi. I would be bitter as hell about that PI if we had lost over it.

Worst non-call in SB history. Probably worst offensive pass interference non-call in modern day NFL

Jalen's an elite corner. Elite corners get benefit of the doubt at times, even sometimes when it's an obvious call. I know, the world isn't fair. It's so wrong. I feel so bad for them.

Oh well back to polishing that Lombardi.

Apart from that one play, which obviously should have been flagged and called back, the Bengals had 61 total yards of offense in the second half of the Super Bowl.

So, yeah... that was a BIG non-call.

And six of the seven times Burrow got sacked were in the 2nd half.

There is a skill to committing a foul in a way that is hard to detect. Offensive linemen hold almost every play, but are only flagged when it is obvious. The Higgins hold on Ramsey looked obvious to us (shot from above and run back in slow motion) but we didn't have the referee's perspective. So Higgins play was good. He got away with a foul and scored. End of story.

That was the most blatantly intentional offensive pass interference I’ve ever seen.

Yeah. So someone’s only job is to look for any interference on a long pass play. Then to determine if it was a catch or not. If they didn’t see any interference they were either way out of position or weren’t looking at the play at all. Either way I find it hard to believe someone else on the crew didn’t see it. I stand by my statement it was the biggest missed call in SB history.

Isn’t there an “extra” deep official too, for the Super Bowl?

As I mentioned in another post on this play the field judge was even with Higgins and JR. He was out of position. Officials are trained to never ever be on top of a play cause it flattens the angle.

The field judge should have been trailing the play by at least five yards (5-10 is optimal) to open the angle and vision in case there were other nearby players involved in the officials zone.

Sky Judge, dammit (or a panel of 3).
What is so hard about this, NFL?
The whole goddam world sees the clear foul and the NFL lets it go???
In the SUPER BOWL?
Lame. Another reason for Goodell contempt.

I wish we had a hat cam for referees so we could see what they saw. I think a lot of missed calls would have been missed in real time by the average viewer.

Absolutely intentional. That wasn't my point. If you can intentionally foul without getting caught, it's a skill. Look at all the stuff going on with DB's and WR's, they are trying to get every advantage they can without getting flagged.

Losers are going to hold onto their only good play even if it was illegitimate.

Big time losers. And there is no more overrated QB than Burrow. Everyone says his Oline sucked because they gave up so many sacks. But a great QB gets rid of the ball quickly under pressure.

I'll give him a pass due to his youth but they need to back off of his hall of fame praise for a few more years.
