Anyone else think the Bengals HC was stupid at the end of the game

I was watching and wondering if an injury was going to happen.

IMO it was foolish to fight for a meaningless TD that wouldn't have had any effect on the outcome. I get it you never want to quit but why risk a [potentially serious injury.

The team is 0-7, deal with it and don't put players in harms way for nothing.

I think it was egotistical of him. What;s the point in trying top make the score closer? Did he think it would help save his job when the year ends and they are 1-15 and he gets fired?

Pointless.

Yeah it would've been terrible if they lost someone to injury. Could have completely derailed their season.

"YOU PLAY. TO WIN. THE GAME. "

I didn’t watch the game live but followed online. Based on what I know why wouldn’t a team fight to score a TD for momentum into the next game.

I had no problem w it. New coach trying to instill new culture.

I wish him the best. He was a good coach for us.

With the extremely limited practice time now because of the current CBA... coaches need to almost use the ends of games like yesterday's as a practice. Get it on film... use it next week in the coaching up process. You gotta take advantage of all the time you have.

Plus... 1st year coach trying to see which players he has on the team that may be slackers etc... You can learn a lot from player's actions at the end of a game like that.

Not to mention the obvious from Herm... "You play to win the game!" Don't give up till the clock hits 00.

You've got a winless team that's been close on many games. You're trying to build a culture. I think this was the smartest thing he did all game.

Edit: plus half those guys might not even be there next year it's a rebuild so who knows if the guy that got hurt would even be back. Yeah it's a shitty thought but it's a reality.

What was the spread in that game? Maybe he was trying to reward the people foolish enough to bet on his team?

Um....what's wrong with trying 110% until the Final Whistle huh?
Isn't that what we'd expect of our Rams??????

I remember back in 2011 or so, Spagnuolo punted on 4th Down when we were losing late in a game.....all of Ramsnation were calling Spags "A QUITTER"!!!

Also, all of these NFL players were all-star athletes in HS and College.....d'ya think they are not going 110% till the Final Whistle??
It's in their DNA!!:foot

IMO with less than 30 seconds on the board down by 14 you don't risk starters.

I think a lot of posters would think differently if Goff was dropping back exposing himself to hits or harm in a game with the Rams on the opposite end of the score.
