It figures. I'm dumping Amazon Prime in a few weeks, but the Rams don't play that often on Thursday night anyways. I'll find a way to watch when they do. ;)

I’m happy about it. We use Amazon often and would never go back to paying shipping. So it fits our situation.

I hate the ESPN/NFL Network games. The main reason is because streaming services have not had both in the same year so far. It is either one or the other. I’m not pay for both Sling and Hulu for one station. I prefer the one that has ESPN for college football

I just wish they could take over the Sunday Ticket and offer it to their paying subscribers. I use Amazon all the time for the shipping and Prime Video.

Love it love it love it. I'd much rather pay the prime membership and get TNF than $60+ month for a cable package, streaming or otherwise for NFLN. I just need some more details on the MNF on ABC. Exlusive probably means the random games, not each one.

It got booted up to the 2022 season.

Ryan Fitzpatrick bringing 'FitzMagic' to Amazon as Thursday Night Football analyst

Ryan Fitzpatrick is bringing "FitzMagic" to the broadcast booth.

The journeyman quarterback – who retired earlier this month following 17 NFL seasons with nine different teams – is joining Amazon Prime Video as an analyst for Thursday Night Football.

“Although my playing career has come to an end, my love for football has not," Fitzpatrick said in a press release on Tuesday. "I’m excited to start this new chapter with Thursday Night Football and looking forward to sharing my unique experiences and perspectives with football fans.”

Fitzpatrick will join Tony Gonzalez and Richard Sherman on Amazon Prime's TNF pregame, halftime and postgame coverage. The 2022 TNF schedule will feature each of the nine teams Fitzpatrick played for during his NFL career: the Rams, Bengals, Bills, Titans, Texans, Jets, Buccaneers, Dolphins and Commodes.

Fitzpatrick played two seasons with the Los Angeles Rams (2005-06) and two with the Cincinnati Bengals (2007-08) before his run as a four-year starter with the Buffalo Bills (2009-13). He spent a season each with the Tennessee Titans and Houston Texans before a two-year stint with the New York Jets.

In his final five seasons, Fitzpatrick fought for playing time as a starter while nurturing quarterbacks Jameis Winston in two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2017-18) and Tua Tagovailoa in two seasons with the Miami Dolphins (2019-20). His final season, competing with Taylor Heinicke in Washington, was cut short after just one game due to a season-ending hip injury.

“One of the great characters in the league, Ryan has been a fan favorite and a beloved teammate everywhere he’s gone over the last 17 seasons,” said Jared Stacy, Prime Video’s director of Global Live Sports Production. "We’re thrilled to now have him on our Thursday Night Football team and know our viewers will love seeing his sense of humor and intelligence on display every week."

Fitzpatrick, a seventh-round pick out of Harvard by the St. Louis Rams in 2005, confirmed his retirement on June 3 after texting his gratitude to former teammates for "the magical ride." Fitzpatrick ended his career with 34,990 passing yards and 223 passing touchdowns in 166 games played.

Amazon had baseball games on at no extra charge. Now there is a fee. I bet this is the way they will go with Thursday night football. Have it for free for a few weeks then make us pay.

I will only pay the few times the Rams or Buffalo is on and even then I might stream it instead

This appears to be the modern market building business model, yeah. Suck ‘em in with FREE and bank on consumer habits so when you eventually hit them with the fees they just accept it.

I feel like this started with pizza delivery. For what seemed like forever, delivery was free. You payed for pizza and tip. Then when the delivery fee was added on top of all that, ppl just accepted it with little resistance. They knew ppl weren’t just going to stop ordering out for pizza because a $3 fee was added for no good reason.

I haven’t checked the price for Amazon MLB games since they added a fee. It may only be a few bucks a month. The Amazon app does not work for cancelling channels. You have to go to Amazon.com to do it then punch in your PW if you remember it. They make it difficult. I found out when I added action shows to my Prime subscription and later wanted to cancel. Only $3 a month but that would add up to millions for them.

ATM fees is another one that started this practice long ago.

The grocery business is currently building loyalty with FREE pick up, which is you order online, the store builds your order and you drive to the store and it’s delivered to your vehicle.

It’s only a matter of time before they slap a fee on that too, and If that service is something that becomes routine for a certain demographic, adding fees won’t chase them away.

Back on topic though, if they do decide to start charging for TNF, they’d better strongly consider current Amazon Prime membership to include that.

The drug dealer model. Get your "consumer" addicted and you will have a customer for the rest of their life.

Realistically the Cable (now being called video) conglomerates now offer streaming & you have to have internet to stream, so they are always part of the equation.

More money for both the NFL and Amazon. Amazon just raised the Prime fee. I don't order that much so I don't have Prime. I guess I can find a replay. They will keep raising the fees.
