Why are Rams straining to start Boom at RG while Anchrum has been playing well there? Is coach Wendy in charge or not? I’m starting to wonder.

When, oh when will Rams allow their ‘best 5’ OL players to start gelling together? Opening day is just around the corner, dammit!

Will Rams keep 6 or 7 WR’s? And will Xavier Smith be among them as returner? If only 6 WR’s, who will they be? Gonna be some excruciating cuts there.

Will Rams bring in vet Edge?

Why is Derion Kendrick even in the conversation as a starting CB (top 3) after the camp Tomlinson has had?

Has Ethan Evans finally been studying hang time? And is sideline/coffin corner next on his study list? Insert sarcasm alert here.

Anybody have any theories? Or thoughts?

Because Kendrick is not competing with Tomlinson. Tomlinson is going to be above him on the depth chart. He will man one side or the slot depending on where Durant's matching up that given week.

Kendrick's competition are Rochell and Witherspoon. Witherspoon being the default fallback option if the younguns don't step up enough.

So you read Jourdan’s latest piece on the OL (“Rams’ ‘best 5’ O-linemen still aren’t playing together — and that could be a problem”) and you’re repackaging it as your own original thoughts/concerns?

1) All things being equal, Boom is the better prospect at G than Anchrum. But, he's constantly injured, lacks playing time there, etc... so, yeah, things aren't equal.

2) Didn't McVay say he's gonna keep 5-6 WRs in a presser? Really sounds like they've been looking for returners outside of Smith. Williams and even Robinson there.

3) I think Rams are much mor concerned about bringing in a NT type to stop the run moreso than edge and sure seems like they want to wait on that for a bit.

4) Tomlinson has been reported to have as many teaching moments in camp as he's had outstanding plays we've seen in video or preseason. He also has issues with penalties. Still time for some of that to get sorted before the 1st game but I expect Kendrick will be CB 2-3 given how effusive the Rams staff has been about him in the offseason program. But it could change.

5) We're gonna need Evans to be stellar cause this defense will need every advantage it can get.

Witherspoon has been named a starter.

I don't get the Noteboom stuff. I'm kind of annoyed and over him. He's fragile, and soft. I want to start rebuilding the OL with mean dudes.

Re: the OL it is one thing to expect Anchrum to get the nod based on slotting in camp, but another entirely to say that Anchrum has played well there. Anchrum has not actually started and shown well in real games.

I don't like it any more than the rest of electronic Ramsdom. I feel like Boom has let us down enough and I was looking forward to seeing what Anchrum could do. But it is entirely possible that Boom is the best option, especially if Anchrum's pass sets haven't impressed the staff, as McVay has always put a premium on protecting the QB vs the run game.

WR is likely these guys if they e keep 6 or 7
Kupp
VJ
TuTu
Puca
BS
Robinson

I think it could come to Xavier or Tyler if the go 7 TJ is a better receiver but X has the ability to play teams.

Injuries have Kept the best 5 OL from playing together in pre season and I am not 100 that was ever the plan

Maybe, we can just discuss the topic and save the nonsense for another board.

None of us our reporters with inside information.
All of our concerns are either from reporters info, or 2 preseason games.

Can’t agree with you on that last part. When I post something that came from a source, I cite the the source. I, for one, think that’s the right thing to do.

I’ll leave it at that.

Having a concern over what a reporter wrote isn’t plagiarism.

I never used the word “plagiarism.”

Jourdan’s article is titled:
Rams’ ‘best 5’ O-linemen still aren’t playing together — and that could be a problem
I don’t think this was a coincidence, and I believe Jourdan should have been cited.

That’s all.

Still a grudge over of his “random thoughts”? :wow2:

This seems like a pretty general concern shared by many Ram fans. It certainly wasn’t only expressed by Jourdan.

He isn’t reporting news of any kind.
Which is why Jourdan, shouldn’t be required to be mentioned.

This “Best 5 linemen” on the OL really gets on my nerves.

I don’t want the best five overall linemen to start games; I want the best LT at LT, the best LG at LG, the best C at C, the best RG at RG and the best RT at RT.
