That's because they know they can do accounting tricks to get around it

NO though seems to be quite a bit over the cap and could have issues

It's all about accounting. Like my previous post pointed out, The Rams have the most flexibility when it comes to the ability to create space through simple restructures.

They could open up over $90M in cap room. So they have been paying as it goes. Only a few players with void yrs added to contracts to push debt into the future.

The Eagles did that the last two yrs. They were in cap hell supposedly 2 yrs ago. Their GM restructured the hell out of the roster to the point where they have 7 or 8 players that have void yrs tacked onto their contract who are hitting FA. So they will still count against next yrs cap! So in order to make room for guys like Reddick and AJ Brown, they kicked a bunch of cans down the road.

The result is now they have little flexibility in creating room and they have 8 guys hitting FA that played at least 60% of the snaps this yr. And a guy like Kelcie who will likely retire. And Kelcie has void yrs tacked onto his contract as well.
